Hi, I might have missed it somewhere, but maybe you know it. Who was conducting, please? You might have great musicians, a great choir and the greatest singers and they might still flounder if there isn't a great captain and a great pilot to get the ship home. It must have been fantastic. Depending on what Christmas traditions you have (if you have any) I belated Merry Christmas or a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Yours, Ann

The farmhands to go from Lion, Tin man, Scarecrow matter of minutes to take off all makeup, running through hallway 😅 And there is a drag queen who puts all of her makeup as part of her routine. It's possible. But you could be right in this situation.

I don't know if you read these comments or not. But I just have to say, thank you. This video has made such an impact on my life and my children's. I have 3 toddlers who are autistic and have struggled terribly with sleep issues. I noticed one of my daughters had a fascination with piano music and that's when I came across your channel. I put this video on every night at bedtime for them and they are actually sleeping through the night now. Their moods have improved, no more meltdowns, after 2 years of silence, my daughter is starting to actually say some words. All because they are actually able to sleep properly now. So thank you. I hope you make more of these long videos. My entire house loves them!

To end the concert with Suddenly Seymour was probably the best note to pay tribute both to Alan Menken's journey in music as well Howard Ashman's. Little Shop of Horrors opened both of them the gates to what would be a partnership of reviving Disney by adding their charms and talents for generations to come. Their works will always be hand by hand, despite Howard no longer writing his lyrics along side with Alan's melodies. Disney legends forever.

Disney concerts are usually pretty good (around 7/10-8/10) but they really knocked this one out of the park. Even being in the orchestra this concert was emotionally exhausting. i grew up with these songs & was even tearing up as i played. The lucky people who were in the audience will never forget this night. I work with Alan at Disney & it is a absolute honour to do so. No one deserves that award more than he does. I played drums. I was emotionally exhausted by the end of the concert. I grew up with these songs as a child (In Australia) & remember going to the cinema to watch the Little Shop Of Horrors. When the piano started to play the intro to Suddenly Seymour tears just started to flow. This will probably sound silly but hearing the music resonated with me & it was like being launched back to the 1970-1980's & reliving my childhood again. It's incredible that a generally cult figure show can still bring people & their memories together after 40 years. I am employed by Disney to play in their major motion pictures & Alan's music is beautiful. We were lucky to have a very good bunch of musicians in the orchestra that night.@@MVEProducties

I'm in love with this concert and with the solists too! I wish Eleanor Grant, who sang 'Part of your World', would have sung 'I See The Light' as well though. Celinde is an amazing singer, but in this song she's constantly going back and forth from chest (loud and brassy) to head voice (almost operatic), which makes it almost sound like she's struggling or as if she's not sure which singing technique to use. For this song you need a more fluid voice, like Eleanor Grant's.

There are still original recordings from the ORF tv broadcasts in the same quality as RealSatire kindly uploaded for us today. Austrian tv is well known for spectacular concert recordings. @@1971THX I don't think that the first concert in 2007 was broadcast on ORF. That was just a regular concert at the Konzerthaus in Vienna, humble beginnings. The Max Steiner Award was created in 2009 and awarded to John Berry. At least parts of that concert were broadcast and a recording of approx 45 minutes is on youtube. That started the tradition of the annual Award ceremony, well, until the pandemic hit. I went to my first Hollywood in Vienna concert in 2010, and I remember that it was almost fully broadcast afterwards. 2007, and very likely 2009 also, were not broadcast.
