She's not ready yet and if she gets back in there she will get hurt really fucking bad. Considering her skill and her record, it's amazing how humble and sincere this woman is. She is the epitome of good sportsmanship. Ronda Rousey is the exact opposite. She lost to a true sportsman and she deserves every bit of criticism she is taking all over the web. It's been a full day and Rousey still doesn't have the courage or character to congratulate Holm for her well earned victory. If Rousey does take the rematch, she will see that it's delayed for at least a full year hoping that Holm's age will catch up with her while Rousey is still in her prime. It won't work. Holm will win the rematch by KO or TKO. In the meantime, MMA needs less trash talking, less hype, fewer big egos, fewer hamburger commercials and more true sportsman like Holly Holm.

There are a lot of great posts on here; also, views that are spot on. I would like to also point out an observation that I used to detect an upcoming defeat, and it goes like this... Holly, don't even control a thing in her camp: The wealth that Holly makes, will be distributed in the fashion according to the "business" of the game. Where in Ronda's corner, it is not that way. She controlled everything if you see what I'm getting at. Simply putting it: it is the people she surrounded herself with, and the lack there of; meaning this... are you going to stand around and work for someone who grows and you don't? when wealth come into the mix, as the business man would say, "its time to replace the horse that pulls my Wagon" again... if you keep beating the same horse, it will stop pulling one day.

Really entertaining fight, it's pretty awesome to see a moment like that in the fight game. I think that this is the best example of a game plan executed perfectly. It'll be interesting to see how Ronda fights in the rematch though, now that her Cockiness has been severely damaged lol, It should make for a much more competitive fight. Holm will win a stand up fight anyday, Rousey will win a grappling fight. This is your quintessential Boxer vs. Judo practician. Hopefully Ronda learns how to throw a technical punch, I'd really love to see these two at their best. Props to Holly, perfect fight for her.

+jumbalyiajefferson Holly is already past her prime and she still decimated Ronda. And what makes you think Ronda can win a grappling fight against Holly Holm?. Holly took Ronda down - it was almost a suplex. Ronda couldn't keep Holly down in her half-assed takedown attempt. Holly is stronger than Ronda. Ronda can't win on the ground against Holly or she would have.

  • @jumbalyiajefferson

Red Rover An experienced submission artist will obviously let a boxer take her down, it's pretty much giving her a shot at your arm without having to work for the takedown. You clearly don't know that much about MMA. and womens mma is so new that someone as skilled at striking would obviously beat the female equivalent to Royce gracie. Ronda is an Olympic Judo athlete, what makes YOU think a boxer could beat her at her own game? If she would've won you would've been dickriding the other way, saying oh Holly's past her prime, obviously Ronda would submit her. I literally guarantee you'd say that lol

Rousey seemed to me to have looked past this girl, her fight plan of punching with a puncher was ill-advised and she looked ill prepared as if she hadn't been training very hard. Perhaps she's been reading her own press clippings and didn't give this very smart and well trained new champion the respect she obviously deserves. The rematch will be VERY interesting. Perhaps Rousey has met someone she can't defeat -- time will tell.

a lot of people couldnt see the failed takedown attempts by ronda. Watch the fight and focus just on what she does, the very first thing she did was try a takedown but holly was slippery and surprisingly good at avoiding them. At one point ronda tried a hipthrow but holly stepped in the right place and actually threw ronda off balance. She successfully avoided takedowns and beat her at her game (kickboxing) and that won her the fight.

In absolutely no way, shape or form does Rousey merit a rematch. She was completely dominated by Holm, who is clearly a far superior fighter. In any case, Rousey should have to fight Cyborg first. If she manages to win that one (highly doubtful) then she will have earned the privilege of Holm once again repeatedly smashing her fat moon face.

Some may disagree and others will be on the same page. Ronda Rousey obviously is amazing in her Judo background no question about it, BUT her stand up game (striking) is not exactly the "best". Ronda tried doing stand up with a World Champion Boxer and she got showed that Holly has the striking game over Ronda. Also, Ronda mistakes confidence with being cocky. She continuously says she's the best in the world, nobody can beat her, etc etc... And she claims it as being confidence, but in reality if you haven't noticed the way she acts and the way she talks about all the other competitors, she's cocky and actually thinks that she's better than everyone else. Holly won fair and square and I'm absolutely glad that she did. Ronda needs to adjust her attitude and have respect for other competitors rather than trashing them as if they are nothing compared to her. Also, I've noticed allot about Dana White and what I observed, he favors Ronda over everyone.

Why be so modest, ronda had never fought a fighter with a boxing tradition. Boxers seem to have always garnished the more athletic people involved in combat sports. Boxing has proven itself once more to be superior to chocking and wrestling.

A Ronda/Holly rematch should happen, but it shouldn't happen immediately. Or to put it another way, if it does happen immediately, Ronda will lose. I've said a lot in Ronda's favor in the past, and I still stand by it all, but the simple fact is that based on their fight, she currently has no answer to anything Holly brings to the table. Now maybe that's a matter of conditioning, a matter of not taking her opponent seriously enough and not training adequately for the fight. Maybe it's a matter of skill gaps she needs to go back and fix. More likely it's both, really. One way or the other, she needs to take some time out, heal up, watch footage of their fight, go back to the drawing board, and try to remake herself before stepping back in there. If she jumps back in immediately with Holly, she will LOSE. Even if she doesn't, she may well lose anyway. Maybe she'll never be able to match up with Holly no matter how much she tries. However, if she can do it, she'll do it after taking time to fix what's broken in her game plan first, because as it currently stands, they could fight 10 times, and I'd bet on Holly to win all 10. It was that lopsided. Meanwhile, maybe if Cyroid finally stops juicing and comes down in weight, Holly can put her to sleep and finally shut her up once and for all. It'll be an easy win for her. And hey, Tate's always up for getting her ass kicked again! It's sort of her thing.

I think Holly got into Ronda's head at the weigh-in. Ronda seemed like she wanted to beat her down like she did Corriea for pissing her off. Not smart with a world class striker like Holly. Great win.

for all you people who think based off of this fight that ronda has no boxing skills I would say you simply don't know enough about the human mind to know the real reason behind what happened in this fight or you just dislike ronda. now I'm not trying to have a go or say anybody is stupid or anything I'm just making a point on where I think people have gone wrong. yes she was awful in this fight against holly but she's won in the past with barely getting hit in the face and you can't say that everyone she's fought in the past has shit boxing so there must be a non skill related reason behind why she lost to holly. don't get me wrong holly is sick at mma in general let alone boxing and she did fight the way she was supposed to but I don't think she faced the right ready to go ronda rousy. joe rogan has said that ronda's boxing has become world class and of a professional boxing level and he knows a thing or two about boxing and mma so her performance is not a reflection on her skills. I'd say she's had the same problem mike tyson had, not because of the same reason but still the same problem. she was majorly intimidated by holly's boxing and mma record and skills that she started to doubt the effectiveness of her own skills and then like mike tyson she lost faith in herself completely and the fight was effected. this is why she acted odd and overly aggressive during the weigh ins which she hasn't done before despite having reasons to do so. everything was just off in this fight and her simply moving forward towards punches in the face just goes to show she was off, I'm not saying she can definitely beat holly but if she get's her head together and believes in herself like she has before then the rematch will turn out far differently then this fight did.

+james haliburn Well, Joe Rogan says lots of silly things. Don't get me wrong Joe knows his stuff when it comes to BJJ, but he was a bit hyperbolic when he says things like Ronda's boxing is "world class". Holly Holm's boxing actually is world class. Most of Ronda's previous opponents didn't properly use lateral movement to evade Ronda's bullrushing style. They would often sit in the pocket and try and hit back with a haymaker get clinched up and then tossed. Plus, you have to factor most of Ronda's previous opponents didn't have the experience in the combat arts that she did. Plus, Ronda is a big fighter for her weight class. She does have good power but the is not the be all end all to be a good boxer.Holly was the first fighter she fought that had comparable(if not more) experience, size and her ringcraft and ability move laterally are what led to her winning.Ronda did the same things she always does. Charges straight ahead swinging trying to clinch up for a toss and then ground and pound. When that failed she didn't seem to have a plan B and it all went to shit for her after that. What Ronda needs to do is get a new striking coach that can teach her about angles and pacing and distance. She was severely outclassed in these areas. Not trying to be jerky, just calling them as I see them.

Web Developer that's not even a mature factual argument against what I've said so well done!! good adulting right there xD henrylicious if you're saying she was doing the same in this fight that she's done in every other fight then why did she become tired within 1 round yet she never got tired during her fights with tate despite the tate fights having more constant action in them ? ronda came out swinging for the fences putting everything behind her punches and when it didn't work she tried to go for a take down and then swing for the fences more which is why she was gassed out within 1 round, do you really think she swings for the fences every time she boxes with someone in the octagon ? even if her fighting style was the same as it's always been, she was still mentally defeated way before the weigh ins let alone the fight and that self doubt and lack of determination plays a big part in how much damage your head and body can take. emotions effect physical performance and this is why no offence to holly but she didn't face the peak ronda that she should of. I'm not trying to dull down holly's performance because it was sick, maybe I'm way off in my opinion but to me it looked like ronda being coached and led by her frustrations not by a clear confident mind.

+james haliburn "she didn't face the peak ronda that she should of."She most certainly did. The reason she became tired in the first round is because she never fought a true pro before. Everyone she fought up until now are amateurs, especially compared to Holly. Holly had full control of that fight from the get go. It was basically sparring practice for her. Rousey would be an idiot to step in the octagon with her again. She isn't, by any stretch of the imagination, a match for Holly.

Mick0722MX no offence but you do not know the difference between purely kickboxing and kickboxing mixed with loads of grappling and the effect added grappling has on energy. you use around 3 times more energy when grappling is added, it doesn't matter how amateur someone is, if they're grappling with you for most of multiple rounds you will use way more energy compared to even the best female kickboxer ever who is just kickboxing with you for 1 round. this bit of information isn't me being biased toward ronda it's just a fact that many people have stated for many years in mma, having to move around with a whole other human body and use pretty much all your muscles near max is more effort then simply bouncing yourself around and kickboxing. did ronda seem tired when having this grappling match with meisha for multiple rounds ? no far from it and you can't say meisha is small for the weight class because she obviously isn't. yet this and the fact that she trains for multiple rounds all the time somehow didn't prepare her and wasn't enough for her to be able to last only 1 round just kickboxing ? also it wasn't even a furious first round with loads of punches and kicks either. come on man it's not like her to last only 1 round and get tired and it's not like her to just continuously run into punches and not want to change her game plan or just move her head at all.
