as a vod frog: with glass soul it didn’t go so well but they got it on their first stream on current patch (second stream of trying to get hitless), where they ran the route with a hit counter to practice, and once they managed to beat it with only one hit they started to reset when they took a hit, and succeeded in only a few more tries!

i’m surprised skurry didn’t just add 43 different randomizers to it, along with a bingo chart

He had a tracker that helped. Grass run was tedius but at least you are naking progress. Hitless means that one single hit, either from complacency or something unforseen, and the run is dead. Doesn't matter if it happened in the first 5 minutes of the run or all the way to the very end.

Honestly I'm surprised Skurry didn't get any of the fragile charms since the only time they'd be broken is when you're dead. strength could have prevented a couple deaths/close calls (mostly in deepnest). Might also partially be cause I've never done a speedrun in my life so they'd know better than me but they did walk past leg eater in every run where they got that far. The watcher knights kill was insane though

Spell build is better and safer than a nail build with Fragile Strength. And the other two Fragile charms are useless in this run anyway. (Fragile Heart is of course really good in Steel Soul, but not in Glass Soul.)

this feeling of fear is exactly how i felt the entire time when i was doing the whole game with charm of fury active(All the time) on steel soul while waiting for silksong . . . (spoiler it took 1 whole month to actually do it) and i mean the whole 112% of the game

@@Snt1_ well yeah but what can you do against just sheer fear ? like i am traumatized of the waterways now. do you know how freaking scary it is to be in city of tears waterways and have that many enemy in literally unpredictable patterns chase you while making that annoying noise ? let me tell you it's a nightmare . . . and the hives are not any better it's feels so god damn scary when a random drill bee or the chunky bee just comes at you like that and you can't even kill them before they hit you . . . i admit at some points fury damage saved some of the attempts but what can you do against just sheer fear of dying and losing all of the progress when there is only 12% or 20% of the game left . . .

Potential route suggestion--after Dash, how about taking a detour to Salubra / Sly to get Shaman immediately, so that you have Shaman VS for Claw and Deepnest? You would also benefit from more gear going into WKs--maybe early shop key to rush Shade Soul?

My personal favorite way of doing this is by reducing my hp to 1 and then using fury, not gonna lie. The last run I had with that made it all the way to mantis village before I had to give up.

I like flipping the game so the things you would never die to are very likely to kill you now, and the things you initially have to learn to not die to, are now the one's you practiced the most and are least likely to take damage from at all.

Yaaaaay! I hope i'll catch your streams, because i'd love to see you try. I got this information from another glass soul runner Obsidian Time. He turned off music, and it makes sense. Btw, i dont think you need routing, but here: get most rocks in the way in kings pass, false knight and geo rocks on the way to him, full false knight fight for city crest and geo, VS, enter greenpath, he used the normal way to go(was scared of the mosquito skip), on the way through greenpath he got the kornifer grub, actually pay the toll to go up, moss knight, vengefly king, get the 2 moss knights and their geo rocks, hornet 1, stag to crossroads, fungal wastes entrance through crossroads (grab the geo rocks), overcharm soul catcher and fragile strength, mushroom knights, the hallownest seal in a room with a bunch of spores, get queen's station and save on the bench, mantis village, find old tea on your desk and eat it(optional), mantis claw, wanderers journal from the room above mantis claw, quit out to queen's station, get the wanderers journal in the rooms where are a few spore shooters and a shroomal tablet in the bottom right corner(forgor the name 💀) lmfao my edit vanished and im not continuing, so frustrating to type a comment and then it goes poof
