Holley 4-barrel carb rebuild | 4150 / 4160 vacuum secondary carburetor up close and personal
All the most important steps for rebuilding any Holley 4 barrel carburetor are in this video. Years ago, I made a rebuild video which was not great. The comments on that video really support that fact. It kinda sucked. So I spent weeks shooting, scripting, and editing the most comprehensive video full of general carb rebuilding information I could pack into a succinct video for your edu-tainment that hopefully, does not suck.. I hope you enjoy.

One minute in and I am already subscribing, you do a great job making videos.
The quality of this video made me think you had 25k-75k subscribers. Good shots, good editing, quality microphone for the voiceover, quality humor, overall good production. It’s possible I’ll be refreshing a carb soon, figured I would educate myself. There was some dirt clogging the vacuum lines and I cleaned it out with a small Allen key. Other than that it’s unused. By the way I’m stealing that “buy once, cry once” phrase 😂

This video did NOT suck in the least. Well done, and thanks for posting!
The best detailed and clearly visible step by step video. U are awesome
Ty for this video. You killed it. Id like to see a carb tune up video.
I want to thank you for taking the time to post this video, it was very helpful and informative. Peace ✌️
Really enjoyed the video, very nice production. Nice and to the point with a good sense of humor along the way. Well done and thanks.
Excellent vid. Quick, thorough, and to the point.
Let me know what you think about the new camera lens on all these close-up shots

Great video! Very clear instructions.
Thanks for making this. I appreciate the time you put into it because it saved me time.
This video is amazing, I’ll be watching this again with my carb in front of me. This is the exact same carb I’ve got. Very good video overall.
Just bought used junk one. & in my way to rebuild it. Its my first holley carb ever. Thanks for helpful video
Very impressive, my friend. Thank you for making this!!
Awesome video, and great jokes too, this will be helpful going forward! Thanks man
Those E-clips are a real PITA. I'm sure everyone knows that feeling when you try to use your fingernails to get the clip on or off and your nail just folds back which painfully reminds you that this could've been avoided if you had just used a flathead screwdriver and pliers to begin with. Also, this video is worthy of a million and twelve views.
Ok…!!!!…. I am going to attempt this on a 750. I really appreciate this video! It’s a lot of knowledge to retain! Here goes
Hi. I'm from Portugal. Very good video.
Excellent video and narration, clear and precise description and directions, i didnt aee your first video but this video definitely did not suck. Cheers to you for sharing your skills the info and your time. Thanks it helped me out heaps!
This definitely helped. Easy to see what you were doing very succinct.
This was quite helpful, tore down the front side of my Holly today. Was in really good shape other than the accelerator pump having a bad seal.
Unbelievably helpful video! Very well done thank you!!
Well done. Thank you for taking the time.
Thanks for making video and it was very helpful and made it easy to fit my rebuild kit Excellent 😊
Thanks for the video. I’m about to tackle the carb on my 1973 International truck. I know it takes more effort than people realize to make these videos. I rebuild Model T Ford carburetors and made a video about 6 months ago of a Holley G carburetor. Check it out and you can see what Holley was up to in 1915.
Well this video definitely did NOT suck. Well done.
Very helpful and appreciated. Thanks
I think you did a good job. The only thing I do differently is I disassemble the vacume can. When the carb gets to the point of needing a rebuild, I have found various funk and trash inside it. Nice video! Take Care, John

I should have just for the video, but I had just done this one. The car only ran for a few hours before I decided to rebuild.
Thanks very much. That was well presented and very informative. Subbed ya. All the best, Mart in England.
you don't want the middle inside base plates screws installed as these can drop into the engine. Holley don't put them on their new carbs.
i felt the part about the accelerator pump spring... lol. just the other day got the entire carb installed and found the spring while cleaning up :( luckily i was able to pull just the bowl off and fix it quickly
Nice Job. Appreciate the sensor of humor as well. Breaks it up. Curious but what does the rotor blades mean?
Thanks for the content 🙂
Thanks there is a lot of good information here
annoyingly I recently bought a kit for one of these 4160's that did not have the tool for metering plate!
Very good video man!
My carburetor is the same as that one, but above the power valve it has a small tube with two orings, it is placed in the passage of the accelerator pump. But I can't find the gasket with the shape that fits well with that tuno on
After a rebuild have to buy more part Bc people I bought it from killed some threads
i thought he was going to get a drink when he grabbed the stool lol
That special tool is called a clutch head I do believe
Thank you for great video helpful
I got a 4150 and I rebuilt it. It’s a vacuum secondary the back blades won’t engage anymore and the back jets won’t work either so it’s running on the front two barrels idk what I did wrong lol

Is there a leak in the vacuum pod diaphragm or one of the small connections between the pod and the carb body?
@colinmertes5090

@@BurnoutsAndRotorblades I just got my wisdom teeth removed I will work on the 4150 holly later on unfortunately and fix it. BUT I got a 650 double pump brawler that’s gonna slap right in with some rerouting of the brake booster right to the back and fuel lines and such on the sides and cables
I think I did something wrong, because the flap at the top of the carburetor won't close, that red thing that connects to the choke, and pushes the flap down, it's just staying down. Why might that be?
👍
Did you pay $137 for the Holley rebuild kit? You did? Why? You didn't? Then how much did you pay for the Holley rebuild kit?

I had enough leftovers from other rebuild kits that I didn’t need to buy one for this rebuild.

What torque is recommended on the float bowl bolts ?
@BurnoutsAndRotorblades
10 ай бұрын
I don’t know if a recommended torque, but I run them all down using the cris cross pattern until it squished the seal a bit. It doesn’t take much clamping force for the very little pressure inside the carb.
I’ll be doing a 670 truck avenger in the morning…
参考になります!
I have a Holley 8007 390cfm. It looks the same as this one. Can I use a kit they sell at oreillys or does it have to be specific?
@BurnoutsAndRotorblades

I’m not sure. If all else fails, just lay the old gaskets on the new ones and make sure they line up.

What do I do if my accelerator pump squirter doesn’t have the little nozzles it just has holes

That’s what they normally look like. The squirters with the extensions are a little more fancy.

I did put the wife’s stool back. She didn’t know until I told her about your comment. At the point she wanted to watch the video for context. She didn’t threaten my life until she saw me use her Tupperware to soak the carb pieces. She’s Russian so. . . I’m in trouble.
