Great talk and one of the best I have ever seen. Did they do much for like line dancing or Zumba. Tai chi or anything to help you move?? Also wondering if wine was the same kind of deal for drinks?

I was 42 when I first tried HAL and I was hooked. Fast forward almost 30 years, now I’m the perfect average age and really good at trivia. They have added BBKing and Lincoln Centre Stage. Great move. They are now my only cruise line. Nice review.

The one person who correctly pronounces it. More D emphasis than T though.

My wife and I have become the "older demographic" which you refer to as being Holland mainstays. We have done Carnival, Royal C., Princess and Norwegian. While never remembering having had a bad cruise, we have come to appreciate the Holland experience as our go to cruise line. Besides the excellent food, most entertainment venues and smaller ship feel, what brings us back is the "staff". The staff from the other lines we have sailed did their jobs well as expected, but the Holland staff just makes us feel like they cannot do enough for us and they do become part of our family while onboard. I suggest the newer Pinnacle Class ships from Holland for a larger ship feel and entertainment venues. Enjoyed the video very much and believe you could become a future Holland "mainstay" also. Thank you so much for the comment. Wholeheartedly agree our most memorable and favorite cruises have always been attributed to the staff more than anything else.

Wow guys, thanks a lot, great information. We are doing a 2 week Sky Princess Jan. 2020 and then the Zuiderdam for the third week. We are creeping into that age group (61 & 65), but it fit our time frame, our trip is in the Caribbean and we are looking forward to everything. We added the third week on inside cabin, never done it (?).Thanks again.

Thanks for your review of Holland America’s Zuiderdam. My wife and I just finished our first ever cruise on board HA’s Eurodam. Our experiences and demographics of the ship were similar to those you describe. Anyway, thanks again for sharing your thoughts and observations...Ed

Great review of the Zuiderdam. I am considering it for October of 2020 for a New England cruise. Our group of four will be mostly mid-sixties so we should do quite well on trivia. The 70's rocked! Too bad you couldn't have been of that generation. Holland is traditional and classic. And slow. It is particularly nice for Alaska. Great to sit in the Crow's Nest or on deck with binoculars and count the pods of whales. I noticed you do Disney as well. Have you done the Miami to San Diego Panama excursion? One of my favorite cruises. Two thousand passengers, only 300 kids. The adults loved it, the kids loved it. I look forward to more of your reviews.

Thanks for the comment Dennis, I hope you rock in the 70's trivia!. We definitely identify with 70's and 80's music the most. Once it's in the 60's or prior though, I might recognize the tune but could not tell you the name or artist.

Hi! We are looking at the Zuiderdam for a Panama Canal cruise. Does the ship have a shop on board with mementos? Did you purchase the internet? If so, was it good?

They did have a ship for mementos, I personally like collecting the ship models and was disappointed they did not have them when we cruised. Not sure if they were out of stock, or if HA does not offer them. But they had plenty of shirts, water bottles, etc. We did purchase the Internet, and sadly on the Zuiderdam and I presume that class of ship with HA in general it was similar to old school dial-up when it was working. On our cruise it was down altogether about half the cruise due to technical problems. To their credit they offered pro-rated credits for all outages, but if you need to be connected for work or other reasons it posed a problem. When it was working it was just good enough to do emails and read the news type browsing.
