Holiness and Justice: The Holiness of God with R.C. Sproul

The concept of cruel and unusual punishment should be familiar to Americans because of the Constitution of the United States. Man is not perfectly just, so we need protections against cruel and unusual punishment. This is not the case with God. He alone is perfectly just. In this lecture, Dr. Sproul helps us appreciate God's holiness through His judgments, showing us how God is just but also merciful.
This is the 3rd message in a series on God's holiness by R.C. Sproul. See other videos in the series: • The Holiness of God - ...

I took a two week break from work and decided to study more about Gods holiness because I was really struggling in thought. This sermon series has made me cry many times because I see my sin 😭 and if I, a human see my sin so massively wicked, what more Gods holy eyes. Thank you so so much for JESUS❤

My shame made me misty eyed after watching this video. My heart continuous to sink in humbleness with the thought of God's mercy and grace as He withholds his justice upon us. Thank you Lord God. Thank you for the Lord Jesus extending His arms as if saying " don't look at him Father. Look at me and my righteousness". Really have nothing to boast. All by His grace.

@RIPSGT5105 I think we all have those feelings. I believe It is our Flesh, aka our Old Man, rearing its ugly head. If you're saved, know that it is not you--it just FEELS like you, because your flesh, and satan want you to think that you're still connected, even though through salvation, you have been CUT AWAY from your flesh by Christ's saving you! Like Satan, himself, the flesh is UNrepentant, and never gives up, and has a WHOLE bunch of tricks, including making you think your OLD nature and its feelings is the REAL you. See Romans 7 especially verses 5-25, and then Romans 8:1-17. All Grace to you.

Yes its one of the many testaments to how wretched we really are. And notice that slight rebellious feeling you get, when times are really hard and you're not getting your way? You know for a fact he can help you with everything you want, but when he wont, it seems natural for our carnal mind to get mad and have rebellious thoughts. But of course, we fear him so we try to tread lightly with it. And thats when its time to know that he didnt want you to have whatever it is for a good reason. Then its time to speak to him from the heart, and praise him and seek comfort. Because if left up to our carnal side, and with the enemy in our ear, we'll abandon prayer. Simply because we didn't get our way. We're horrible.

God will forgive. I'd say to take Hebrews 10:26 as a chlanenge that now that you fully understand the sinful nature of man and how insidious it is and how venomous Satan is in his enticements toward sin, you can see how merciful God is and ask Him to be merciful to you and truly direct your life in such a way that you work put your salvation through fear, trembling and love for our God. You have the desire to be saved. Take advantage of it and the time that remains in you while on earth. Much love and encouragement from all the way over here May God bless you and encourage you on the right path

I pray that you have called out to God for forgiveness and mercy. He will never turn away someone with a repentant heart. Now instead of looking at ourselves in our weaknesses and sins, we look to Jesus and what He has done to secure our salvation. If we belong to Him, He will never forsake us, or let us go. When we understand this we can rest in His finished work. Blessings I hope you are now walking with your Lord and Saviour and be a living witness to His grace and mercy.

The Holy Spirit, Who is the Spirit of God, through an act of His Will, which we cannot explain, causes one of Mary's ovums to bring forth life; i.e., to conceive. This life, which is Jesus Christ, is born some nine months later. Jesus Christ, therefore, has both a divine nature and a human nature. He is both perfectly divine and perfectly human. He is the God-Man. Some prefer God-man. I capitalized it in recognition that he is the [S]on of man, a title that He preferred using rather than Son of God. A man had to die on the cross, not God. "Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said, 'Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired, but a body have you prepared for me'" (Heb. 10:). It is a misunderstanding that God died for us. No! Jesus (a term associated with His humanity/body) died on the cross. Jesus is his human name. His divine name is unknown at this time (Rev. 19:12). It will be revealed in the future. Yes, He is the Son of God as being the third Person of the Godhead; i.e., the Trinity. It is in this light that God the Father is the Father of the divine nature of Christ at Jesus' conception.
