Hi there, very helpful thanks. Lost teeth on 2013 Colorado RG timing belt. Pulling apart now. Got the Haynes manual, but a little daunting regarding re-establishing perfect timing. Any advice? Also, having trouble removing #4 injector. Do I need to drop/tilt engine backwards? Thanks in advance

Would it be possible to ask a couple of favors as part of your normal diagnosis, would it be ok to show the TACHOMETER while cranking to show if that specific vehicle has tach motion if the CKP is suspected to be good and no tach motion for a bad CKP sensor, they do not always go hand in hand. Also on your scan tool as many tools do not show the total number of modules, would it be possible to count the number of modules if your scan tool shows a list after the scan is complete, some tools do not show a module if it is dead and we would not expect to see it if there is no code lets say for a steering module no comm and the EPS module is not listed on our lower budget tool, cheers mate, thanks so much for the great video.

If I was a little closer to Oakey (living in North Brisbane currently), I'd definately have you servicing my Colorado instead. Keep up the great work 🙂

Hi all. Can anyone give any guidance on how to properly re-align all shafts prior to refitting the timing belt? My 2013 Colorado RG’s timing belt broke at idle. 8 x rocker arms broken but I’m advised it’s likely the valves are likely to be ok so just want to try new rocker arms and see how it goes. Problem is I’m not 100% sure how to re-align camshafts with crankshaft and injector pump. Also, the camshaft timing belt pulley was removed without marking the pulley to inlet camshaft orientation. I’m certain there must be a way by lining up TDC to camshaft position and injector position. I have the Haynes manual, but so far everything points to changing a timing belt that isn’t broken. Might’ve missed the section I need, but happy to be corrected or advised either way. Cheers in advance.

I wish I had seen your question 8 months ago as I was going through the same problem. If you get the timing tool kit it's fairly easy. But a word of caution. DO NOT try and time it at cylinder 1 TDC. Does not work. The crank is at 3 o'clock, the injector pump at about 4:30 ( not critical as timing is controlled electricaly with common rail) and the cam needs the tool.
