I’m 68 now and seeing these fantastic videos from the Midnight Special in such clarity is wonderful. I watched this and Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert every time they were on. Looking back, I realize how you don’t appreciate how good you have until it’s gone. This was great music performed by great musicians.

Well? Same age myself, and have and STILL Appreciated/ LOVED these Masterpiece "Time Machine" Songs!! Where are all the great tunes now ? Never hear anything worth a Crap on FM these days...I'm sure its not because of my age! Mostly the demographic ( Upper Midwest) where I reside. Glad this channel came up in my feed!!👍👍🎶🎸🎹 Good Stuff!🙋‍♀️

@@magneto7930I loved "Rock Concert" on ABC because it showed actual bits of concerts instead of one or (maybe) two songs per group, and it wasn't largely "the hits" such as "Midnight Special." Kirshner also introduced me to Glam, which I instantly loved.

I was at this performance. It was shot at the Warner Bros lot in Burbank, CA for the pilot episode of MNS. My friend's dad was one of the cameramen. That whole day was so much fun! We saw Argent, War, Harry Chapin, Linda Ronstadt, David Clayton Thomas, Mama Cass, The Everly Bros, etc., and it was hosted by John Denver . What great days they were back then.

I don't think the instruments are being played live but they are using the backing tracks from the record. The vocals are live. This was done quite a bit because some bands had trouble replicating the recording on live performances. We complain about how music is performed today but it wa also done to some extent back in those days as well.

@@gregoryduncan3067The guy with the dark glasses is singer and guitarist Russ Ballard. Rod Argent is the keyboardist and he has no glasses lol But that's interesting. Irish guitarist, singer and songwriter, Rory Gallagher wore All Star sneakers, checkered lumberjack shirts...since the 60s...things that became fashionable much later.

So many great snap shots of historical bands. Where else you going to find a high quality Argent video like this one. I've enjoyed this channel very much and the memories it's brought back.

I remember so well watching this episode. I was like 13 and never missed this or 'Rock Concert' and my 50+ yr old mom would stay up watch all concerts with me. She thought all these hippies were ridiculous, but yet she wanted to be there with me cause she knew I loved the stuff. I miss her everyday.

Lead singer is about 2' away from the mic at some points. Can this be live?
