I really love to hear Lynn talk about Cold Steel designs. Listening to him talk about serrations convinced me to buy a folder with them, even though I have not been interested in one until now. I love his passion for martial blades. Unapologetic, and excited about things that other knife brands try to dance around. That is why Cold Steel Is an indispensable brand. Amazing designs, super tough construction, practical, capable, and super cost effective. I find I have more Cold Steel than anything else, and for good reason.

Have been Cold Steel collector for over 30 years. Some of my favorites include: Imperial Tanto, Outdoorsman (carried for over 30 years bowhunting), Black Bear Sai Mai, S. Segal helmet breaker, Segal wakizashi, Cold Steel Seagal Signature Katana, Cold Steel Luzon Series Folding Knife, Bowie San Mai Laredo, San Mai Tai Pan (always wish that I had purchased the Imperial Tai Pan back then).

Yeah but let's not pretend like they're the same weapon they were 30 years ago man I just had a Bushman break on me I put my first Bushman through hell and the idea that my second one broke the tip within two weeks of owning it is absurd... Cold steel once the strongest sharpest production knife made now just more garbage... My tia pan I bought 10 years ago is a masterpiece, I seriously doubt it's the same quality dagger that it was then.

@@jbright4232 only buy off eBay type in Japan cold steel or Taiwan cold steel rare and discontinued works as well they aren't priced to much higher than retail from that year it was made I got a recon folder that was the old carpenter steel everyone loved so much for 150 only 30 bucks more than the svn model check it out I saw I boat load of out doorsman from japan

Cold Steel will always have a spot in my collection. I can listen to Mr. Thompson talk all day!

Dude. Cold steels serrated edge knifes is made so they cut 3 times deeper. On flesh. Theres actually not much to think about

I've always loved serration. It was really nice hearing those points hammered home.

I never thought much about Cold Steel for a long time. Now I own 6 and gifted my father a Cold Steel Voyager clip point for ranch work. They make the best full package knives with sheaths too. Good steels and strong designs. All else is flourish.

Love the Hold Out series. I wear the 3" and 4" models as my practical sgian dubhs. I really miss the 4" model and wish Cold Steel will bring it back. The 6" is a monster of a blade!

I have have a coldsteel vaquero since 1998 I love coldsteel knives. That hold out is awesome.

Cold steel knives are so amazing. This one looks like something you could hunt with on its own.

Oh, very nice! I've seen these before and always admired them. The lines and the proportions make this a visually perfect knife. But with it's price it was something I could only look at and appreciate. But after this video, wow! It performs just as well as it looks. It really is one sweet knife.

Love the big knives too. Been interested in Lynn's work since I was a tiny little Air Force Airman in the late 70's. Yeah I'm old.

So many knives to choose….hold out series is awesome while sharp asf! I always feel like a kid on Christmas whenever I see what Cold steel has in store for us knife nuts.

I love Cold Steel . The best tools I've ever had the pleasure to hold in my hand . Products that I can rely on if my life is in danger ,Cold Steel will never let you down.

Love my Spartan. It's the right kind of heavy that I know I can end a situation quickly if it ever came to it, but it's not going to slow me down because it's unwieldy. Thankfully, I've only ever needed to use it in a utility sense. Love the quick deploy catch on it too. The blade is out and ready to go with zero effort...as long as I catch my pocket correctly, which when I miss I would attribute to my own inconsistency on the draw and not the knife.

Got the Spartan by a Holdout would go good with it. Its one of the only few Cold Steel folders I have yet to get. of the three or four tbat I don't own bit would like to this beast is ine of them for the reason they have it in the video , plain or/and serrated.

Knives either deter contact or kill very well, but they don't stop people quickly.

@@bruceleroy8063 Knife or handgun, it's about brain, heart. Short of cerebral contex being severed you aren't going to get an instant kill. Knives however can cause a lot more internal bleeding and trauma than a non lethal handgun wound resulting in shock, which can incapacitate and kill within minutes.

@@montycasper4300 Killing the attacker isn't the goal. Stopping them is. Consider if you were stabbed in the gut. You would probably not fall down until you lost enough blood or went into shock. Now change the stab to a far less deadly punch in the gut and it drops you because much more energy is delivered by the fist than by the knife blade. Energy is what drops people quickly, not blood loss. When seconds count a bleed out is minutes away.

@@bruceleroy8063 I agree that non lethal defense is preferable, but I also accept that for many the means of unarmed self defense isn't practical. In those instances a tool is necessary as a last resort measure where an opponent means them harm.

Always, always always wanted one of these. Talk about beast. the locks on these Cold Steels is really second to none

I want a Hold Out so bad. Such a cool knife, both the folder and the fixed blade are on my list of must have knives. Cold Steel does a great job at designing knives.

For such a large folding knife, it’s a very elegant & unique piece. I’d love to get my hands on a blade with such brawn and beauty.

Have begun to collect more Cold Steel knives recently. Excellent selections, decent priced and exceptional performance. Currently own an original kukri, a XL espada in G10, assorted machetes and a Raja 2. They all out perform expectations.

I have carried serrated and non-serrated blades for years. Both have served me well. Cold Steel, "The Indestructables" have never failed me. I have been using a Hi-Ho little serrated knife for over 20 years. It has been the best kitchen knife, for it's size, I have ever used!

I would love to add to my collection so glad to have the stickman himself on the channel seeing him use the tools himself cant get any better

In the martial system I've been in for almost 21 years we do a lot of knife work. Cold Steel makes a great product and many of them ride in our students' pockets and in their belts.

I've always enjoyed carrying a knife around with me. Not for self defence, but because it's a basic necessity in everyday life. I always seem to need one when I don't have one on me. I think the Hold Out would be the perfect knife to have for my next camping trip.

My favorite folding cold steel knive has always been the Rajan II but this one seems to be a next one on the top

I have the Black Talon 2 serrated. It's unnerving how effective it is at rending material. With a dedicated Lansky CS sharpening rod, you have it made.

I'm absolutely delighted about returning of the Hold Out!!! It was a big grief for me that circumstances turned out like I was too late to buy full serreted Hold Out when it was already taken out of production. That time I had to choose between Hold Out and Talwar 5.5 and I chose the second one. Also, I could spend a little more money and buy both knives, but I didn't, so I still feeling regretted about it.

Got my first cold steel a couple of months ago and have been loving it.

That's a really cool knife that I did not know about before. These videos are always informative and Cold steel is my favorite brand. I think my favorites are the Voyager and the recon one

That slash from the beuty was a suprise, and in real life, I want HER as MY bodyguard, silent but deadly! I have some CS 2 sizes of Luzon, the smaller as a EDC, lost my Secret Edge 2 months ago, is somewhere in my home. But uses a Griek as a substitute for the smaller Luzon some times, or a mini Hunter, just reach down in the pocket pop the sheat off, no carry strap. The Tokyo Spike is a little to long for neck carry, so it's usually resting.

cool dummy setup for the hack,slash and throw moves btw. I've been enjoying the variety of presentation styles and I think we can all appreciate that. I would also love one of those serrated holdouts. I have 2 xl serrated voyagers but this thinner holdout would be easier to carry in lighter clothing.

The Hold Out's and Talwar's and Recon 1's and Voyager's and Espada's and Ti-Lite's and Frenzy's and Counter Point's have always been my favorite Cold Steel Mega Folders to SDUEDC (Self-Defense, Utility, Everyday, Carry). :-)

Holdout2 is still one of my favorite EDC blades. I didn't think I'd like it near as much as I do.

As a new LEO I need something like this! As a former US army cavalry scout I used my cold steel recon 1 tanto aus 8 when I was deployed back in 2009 at Afghanistan.

I love my Hold Out...bought it 2018...after they were discontinued...in the year end sale (which Cold Steel no longer does) close out..actually bought teo...one plain and one serrated..
