I'm so glad I still have 2 pairs of the original Tecton in storage, that $275 price point is insane. I still haven't tried the 2s because $225 was already steep enough, but GODDAMN.

275$ for the Tecton is insane. Right now I'm able to buy a discounted og Tecton for ~120$.

hoka is way overpriced, 20 $ cost base, we produced shoes in the same vietnamese factory, look to Deckers stock price, insane high profitlargins.

Speedgoats would be way more interesting if Hoka made proper wide sizes instead of just adding another centimeter or two of upper material for their wide version.

Tecton x 3 is way over-priced (will probs drop in UK at about £240 - £260), not a fan of the gaiter, but outsole looks better. Again, carbon plate in a trail shoe (I feel) is pointless, unless you're running buffed-out trails constantly. Torrent 4 looks very nice, always been a fan of one of their best shoes since version one. Cheers for the vid guys :)

That puts the TX3 at $320+ in CDN. Love what they are saying, but my X2 $260cdn starting coming apart internally with only a couple hundred KMs. Hard sell to pay $300+ and get the same durability. My Norda 001(not a super shoe) have almost 1200km on them and no durability issues.

That new torrent looks awesome!!! When the 1 came out I had that shoe in my rotation for 2-2.5 years. I bought about 10 pairs. This version looks like it’s got that magic to it.

Interesting. I had the 2 but never really loved it. Much prefer the speedgoat it somehow felt nimbler and more stable to me.

1st and 2nd versions of Torrent lasted a few years, the 3rd is being replaced pretty quickly.

Speedgoat looks prettttyyy

For me, at least, I will burn through Torrents and speed, goats for training, and every day mountain running. Tecton would be reserved for racing and or those special long days in the mountains.

The only update the speedgoat needed from the 5 was a redesign of the silly tongue. Too short and too light resulting in hotspots and a bit of general discomfort. All in all though the 5 has been a great shoe.

Made me look elsewhere for road shoes, same, regrettable for shoes that work so well otherwise, and just annoying on the daily.

Mine too. The midsole started to die after around 200km and also the shoe looks like it has gone trough WW2 on the outside. I've had similar issues with other Hoka shoes - very comfortable, but the durability is suspicious especially for trail shoes.

That tecton x update looks absolutely horrific...

It is so disappointing that the Speedgoats keep getting changed. I wish they had stopped with version 4 as I now find them very uncomfortable due to the changes they keep making to the cushioning. I would take the heavier version of this shoe any day!

Great updates, but I don't understand the late summer/fall relases for their trail shoes.

I really don't like the knit mesh upper on the SG 5. Holds dirt, mud and water way too much. It's time for that trend to be over.

Hoka is unobtanium currently in Japan with the weak yen. It’s unbelievable how expensive running shoes have become

No kidding. Very much warmer weather shoe releasing at the end of summer. Mind blowing. It seems that they want to make sure that they unload all the 3 before 4 comes to the stores since it looks like it is going to be very different show due to increase of stack height.

Idk if people will actually buy the tecton 3 with that price point. $275 is ridiculous

No shoe will save your ass if you aren’t putting in the work…. Buy whatever for 100 bucks and under and get your 20plus hours a week. I’ve been having amazing trail runs in NB1080… get the old versions and crap colors.

Agree. I picked up the Hierro v7’s a while back on sale in the hideous purple and yellow colorway and they have been a pleasant surprise. They run a little short but otherwise a very solid shoe with a Vibram outsole.

Inflation is real

So they all are dull stability shoes that will twist your ankles on uneven terrain 😢
