Played as Soviet Union today. Built lvl 6 fortresses behind the Dnieper river. Not enough time to build mils, severe equipment deficit. The Germans invaded, held them long enough to build up the army. Pushed them back to Warsaw in 1944. They never made it past Kiev.

And harder they fight, more respect in my eyes they get. I don't know how it will end, but i hope we finally come to pease. War is bad thing. It is good to be strong, but without war.
