Thank you so much. I have had this gimbal more than 6 months and couldnt use it because I couldnt even balance my phone. I had watched so many videos and none of them helped. So tonight I went back on youtube and went through even more videos looking at the cimments to see if people had been successful and when I saw your comments I played the video. Im still at very early stages but tonight I have managed with your video to balance my phone and calibrate the gimbal. I will be referringvti your video all the time now as I learn how to use it.

Up to this date I have always used DJI products (drones, Ronin, Mobile) but after doing a lot of research I decided to buy the M6 to use with my iPhone for a specific purpose. I came across your video and found it to be very helpful indeed and I must say that I am very impressed with this phone gimbal. I just wish there was a 'tone' when starting/stopping video recording but other than that I am looking forward to using this premium product from Hohem. Hi! I can't find any information anywhere, is it possible to simultaneously charge the gimbal while charging the smartphone via the gimbal? Do you know if such a feature is available here?

Thanks! Very helpful in learning to use. I decided to forgo the app- this gimbal works well without it. Only thing I can't do, that I wish I could, that can be done with app is changing A->B transit time. I should also note that without the app, only the shutter release function of the shutter button works (zoom does not).

Really helpful video. Does anyone know why the zoom is not working on my iphone 14? I am in PTF mode but when i use the orange zoom lever, nothing happens ?!

Thank you! I like the gimbal with all the possibilities! :-) I have a question: I use a Samsung S23 Ultra. When I use it (video) the footage is very smooth. With the gimbal the footage is a little jerky; it look likes the S23 doesn't use the stabilization. Or the gimbal is doing strange things. Have you heard of this problem? Thanks! Regards, Willem

Hello Mamo, thank you for your detailed test report. What I notice with my M6 gimbal is that I can hear the motor noise from the gimbal on the shots. Is this normal? With your recordings I have at least not noticed it. Did you use an external microphone?

@@MamoAir, I saw Luke and Phillip both use DJIA3, GP10, and Insta360 action cams. Since you do fast action, probably need to secure it down with a velcro strap. And since the AI module is attached to the phone clamp and you can use hand gesture, these action cams or small cams can still be used. I also have a metal frame shape of a phone that can add on action cams to mimic a smartphone and be used as if on on this gimbal but adds more weight. The 1/4” female screws can use used as counterweights in the above use cases to balance the gimbal. Will you do a comparison review with the new release of the Insta360 Flow gimbal with this one?

I was only got mine today and experiencing an overheat problem constantly . What can cause that ? I have the latest firmware on and everything so shouldn't be any problem and brand new from the home site So what should do ?

I'm on my second m6 in a week span!! They both have an issue with the lock button, it will not stay in the unlocked position. On it rotates a full 360 it automatically locks back. Any suggestions?

Hi, super clear guide...until, i've seen so what this gimbal doesn't account for is that you can't actually attach an external lav mic anywhere to the gimbal. Feeling like I've just wasted my money :( Are there any kind of mics you recommend that will work with this? The actual mic area of the iPhone is covered by the gimbal :(

This is a great tutorial. I've had my iSteady M6 for about 4 days now and although it is nice and premium gimbal, I have mixed feelings about it. About 3 weeks ago I purchased the Aochuan Smart X Pro. It is my first gimbal. It is so easy to use. But when I heard about this Hohem, I thought let me buy it and return my Aochuan so that way I do not have upgrade later. I've been having some trouble with it in portrait/vertical position. I feel I am not getting the full functionality of the 360 degrees. I have a very thin bumper case on my phone and I hate that I have to remove it for it to work perfectly. It does still work with my bumper case on but it is not 100% secured into the slots. I also have a wireless microphone that I use so I plug in the receiver into the USB-C charging port on my Samsung. In portrait/vertical position it does not work very well. I am able to get full use pretty much if it is in horizontal/landscape position. I do not like how I have to turn the phone holder in order to use it in horizontal/landscape position. For paying so much money for a top gimbal this is just a bit stupid to have to do that. On my Aochuan it is so easy to use and I just have to tap 2 buttons and the gimbal changes from horizontal to vertical position. The only thing the Aochuan cannot do is move 360 degrees. Not sure which one I will keep and which one I will return.

Let us know your choice. I also had issues when I bought their V2. I had to return it because of jitter problems, returning the phone back to center was always a problem, and the phone mount was way too tight for inserting my phone which almost caused me to drop the gimbal several times. I loved the AI sensor but it just wasn't ready for primetime IMHO.

Can we use dji action 4 with hohem m6 ??

He's probably either looking at an external monitor or reading from a script or list showing the buttons and how many times you have to press each for the different functions.

Definitely. There is one video of a guy putting lots of stuff on the gimbal and works really well. Like a huge phone, filters, etc. You just have to rebalance with all the gear attached.

Look up on YT. A dude did just this with a DJI action cam and the AI sensor can be used to track. I placed my order yesterday specifically because it can hold a GoPro/Action Cam.

Thanks again for this perfect tutorial. I just received my Hohem iSteady M6 yesterday and i love it! The design and build is amazing. I've owned a few gimbals before... Feiyutech camera gimbal which was awful, iSteady X2 and V2 which I sent both back (too small) and the Zhiyun Q4 which I sold after seeing the M6. I was able to get mine setup and working in about 15 minutes, but none of the YT tutorials show that we have to balance the tilt motor as well. I would have not known until i saw your tut. However, there are better tutorials than yours. Some familiar guy is in the Hohem Joy app videos? 😂 Anyways, great work as always! 🎉👍

I suggest you change the thumbnail image of this video. I watched this last year and thought it was helpful, then I went back today to find it again and was searching for that one guy who was helpful and couldn't find your channel. The way it is now, it looks like a video for skaters who'd risk losing their phone by attaching it to the front of their board, not the great tutorial you prepared for everyone. I suggest a photo of you, the orange top would make this video immediately recognisable and it'd show it's for everyone, not a niche group only. Otherwise thank you for the video, it's really good

Does this gimbal have in-app features for face tracking, or do I need to purchase a separate AI gadget to enable this functionality?

Hi! I am actually considering to buy Hohem iSteady M6 but I would like to check if I can still use the gimbal features (like the pan, inception etc) if I am using the native camera app of the phone. I am using Samsung S23 and the frame rate has options for 60 and 120 but I noted that in the Hohem Joy app it only showed 24 and 30 frames. Thank you!

Great, that does not damage the gimbal. As long as the gimbal is off you can do whatever you want. The damage occurs when the phone is not properly balanced or when you turn on the gimbal with the locked axis.@@ananthrao3180
