Hocking Hills is my favorite place to visit in the Buckeye State. In January, there is the Annual Winter Hike, and it is always a fantastic event, with a couple of thousand hikers, and no strangers. My home is in West Virginia, and when I visit, my Heart is fully there.

This place is magic in the winter. Great video... I felt like this captured exactly how wonderful it is there. Robby, my brain does the same thing everytime. It's just so massive I don't think my brain has the ability to comprehend it all at once... It's like overload. Earlier in the winter my wife and I were there and the tower was only about six ft high, I can't believe how tall it gets! I've even heard that the ice has connected to the river above before. While we were there someone also had their dog, except this guy had a dog sled and the dog was pulling him back to the parking lot, lol. It was slightly strange... but the dog seemed happy. Again great video! Very enjoyable to watch. Can't wait for more... especially full episodes :-)

Brian Lucas Yeah, it really is pretty amazing in the winter. We went once before and I think at Cantwell Cliffs there's a similar ice tower, but no where near as huge as this one. Hahaha, and that sounds like my kind of dog, would love to have one like that. Next full video coming at the end of this month. We just started editing it, so just a bit longer! Thanks for watching :) -Robby

Gorgeous park and I think hikers should not shun the winter season for truly the landscapes one thinks they know so well are suddenly transformed into a completely different scenery which is oft times so idyllic. BTW, the scene around the 6:35 mark is absolutely gorgeous. Well done.

Visited all the parks in the hocking hills 2 or 3 times a summer during the 60s and 70s and loved it. Went back about 10 years ago and it was just overrun with littering, entitled humans. I prefer cherishing my memories to going back to the new reality. I've never seen it in winter thank you for this.

Nice video as usual, guys! My buddy and I did day-hikes at Hocking Hills in September 2014, followed by a couple of days of backpacking at Zaleski State Park. You're right about the size of Ash Cave -- I was overwhelmed by the sheer size of the cave. Unfortunately, last summer must have been very warm, because when we were there in September, all of the waterfalls were non-existent and the water levels in the rivers and pools were very low or completely dried up. As impressive as the sights were, they would have been even more spectacular with large volumes of flowing water. The park looks amazing during the winter. Thanks for sharing.

Great Lakes Backpacker Oh, very nice! Yeah, that cave is just massive. And you may have missed out on the ice tower, but on the bright side that day was ridiculously cold! Just brutal. So you were spared that at least. Thanks a bunch for watching, stay tuned for more. -Robby

This reminds me of going to the Seven Falls near Colorado Springs in winter. Unfortunately most of the parks around here require an entrance fee :[ However if you go during winter the prices are usually lower because there are not so many tourists around here that time of year. The waterfalls make crazy ice shapes, it's cool.
