Hockey is very similar to soccer in terms of how the game is played and scoring. Its got more scoring and is much faster than soccer. The average game score is 3-2 or 4-3. Though its not uncommon for teams to score 6+ goals a game. All goals are worth 1 same as in soccer. In hockey they track Individual player scoring with goals and assists. Up to two assists can be earned on a goal in hockey. So not only does the person who passed to the goal scorer get an assist but the person to passed it to that person gets an assist as well.

Also, the player is dangling the puck taunting the defender to get them to over commit.

Gretzky has more assists than anyone else has points (goals + assists). He's the Great One for a reason.

1 goal is 1 point no matter what and games can go from 1-0 to 10-9 its crazy

Hockey is like football a bit it’s a goal and assist in the same way. It’s 20 minute periods of 3, I’d say like average goal per game for each team is probably around 2.5-3.5, but scores can also go pretty high like 7-2 blowout victories. Honestly the commentary makes the goals epic too. Old video so my bad if someone has said this already.

What makes hockey different from other sports in my opinion, is that it’s much more difficult to create offence and faaar easier to stop offence. I think this dynamic is the polar opposite to most other team sports. This level of difficulty is what makes hockey so impossible to figure out to the casual observer. It’s such a simple game, yet seems so chaotic and complex. Controlled chaos and aggression mixed with intense skill and sports IQ. Hockey players are boxers who can play tennis, who can run track, who can play with rugby and football athletes . No other culturally based athletic experience provides this particular sense of community… dare i say, it being as close or for a lack of better terms, tribally competitive. That atmosphere that exists within a hockey dressing room. This sport … the only space where this brotherhood can be found. I can’t pretend I’ve ever felt like a soldier in my life, but the closest I’ve ever felt to that level of brotherhood is on the ice, on the bench. Every parent on earth who can afford it, I implore you, let them have that experience. If I could, I’d spend every moment showing him/ her how special, unique and finite peace is.

Crosby is arguably the greatest of all time. Top 5 for sure. Malkin had two seasons as the best in the league and has some great highlights too

There is absolutely zero damn chance in any reality or any universe that Crosby is even remotely close to being in the same league as Gretzky. They may as well play different sports the gap is so wide. Orr is #2, then Lemieux, Howe, Richard and literally like ten more people until you get to Crosby, if I’m generous to him. You are literally the only person in the world to ever say that, and you’re trying to mislead a seemingly good dude. I’m honestly offended bro. Wow…

Honestly I think only McDavid has top 5 potential. Crosby and OV are top 10 but can't touch Gretzky, Orr, Lemieux or Howe.

I here you but the word "nutmeg"/"megs" is used worldwide, I've even heard American's say it surprisingly😅💯 Different sport same action so just call it the same thing🤷🏿‍♂️
