Hobie Mirage Pro Angler Walkthrough

Спорт

Our top of the line fishing hulls, Hobie's Pro Angler series are the solo fishing platforms that blur the line between boats and kayaks.
Follow along as Morgan Promnitz covers all the amazing features, explains the different hull sizes and options for pedal drives available.
The Pro Angler was design for anglers that want to land trophy fish from small boats but do not want to be restricted by any of the existing limitations of kayaks. Weight capacities of 500 and 600 lbs, industry leading stability and limitless storage & rigging options. We build two different sizes of the Pro Angler and offer both sizes with the award winning MirageDrive 360 pedal system and well as the MirageDrive 180. Both drives feature kick-up turbo length fins and Morgan helps you decide what drive would be ideal for your fishing location and technique. He chats about why the 12 ft hull can be better for smaller areas and is a bit easier to transport while the 14 ft hull offers more capacity and one extra key feature.

    Got an older pro angler 14 with the old type paddle. Dream boat. Do steady i can barely tip it as a 100kg dude if I stand up and jump on the edge of it. So nice. And sitting in a comfy seat beats a hard canoe

    There's no doubt Hobie has a lot to offer. I was curious, as I have seen some people having problems with the 360 belt breaking. Has Hobie resolved the root cause of this problem? The one thing I didn't like about my PA12 2015 model is for a short guy I had the pedals adjusted as far back as possible and it was a bit too short to pedal comfortably. Your competition seats slide back and forward. My last gripe, I live in Japan and the only dealer is in Okinawa, the prices are sky high because Hobie ships the Kayaks to Australia and then back to Japan which jacks up the price. Why can't they be shipped directly to the Okinawa dealer? That makes no sense.

    Hello to TEAM HOBIE. Me as a semi professional Ocean Kayak Fisherman are very interested in a answer to the following Question. What is your definition of "OPEN WATERS" ? Please describe.

  • @HobieOfficial

    @HobieOfficial

    2 жыл бұрын

    Ya "open water" definitely can have plenty of different definitions. I just did a quick google search and one definition of Open Water as: Water free from ice! In general when referring to our kayaks we think of Open Waters as being a waterway large enough to have the potential for extreme conditions to develop, these conditions make it necessary to have the proper life saving equipment, know how to preform a self rescue and or be able to hale rescue personnel. Obviously large waterways are not the only place where conditions can become dangerous. I think what Morgan was referring to when he is used the "open water" term is when he is using the Pro Angler offshore in deeper water where he is spending the bulk of his day pedaling and trolling.

    @@HobieOfficial thanks for clarification. See, Hobie is surely a fantastic kayak but is still not as far ahead as the "other" brand. I do believe, with some "must have " modifications (no one so far) has considered, Hobie could set all other manufacturers far behind. Since 2001 all my kayaks had to be "modified" to turn them in to true blue water safe vessels. I hope that Hobie really will step up to the plate and finally get a Kayak built what makes people like me happy. I am talking serious and substantial stuff and not a cup holder kind of things. If you guys get it managed, I surely will Hobie consider. Many thanks and happy fishing 🎣

    Hobie, Hobie, Hobie! Nice boats yes, so where are the much needed 10’ models? We need 10’ PA, and Outbacks. Why are you just leaving this segment to Old Town and Native Watercraft. Your current boats are obviously too heavy for pickup truck bed duty into tight launches. These would outsell your larger models 2 to 1 easily. They cannot be too heavy either. Let’s go, Hobie!
