    Nice review. I just got my raptor in the post, and I love it. The F22 Raptor is my all time favorite aircraft. So upset that it's getting replaced.

    It will be 10 years before NGAD is online. Raptor is getting upgraded until it's in full fruition.

    I have the Hobby Master 1:72 Lockheed F-22A Raptor USAF 192nd FW, #04-4082 "Cripes A' Mighty", Langley AFB, VA, March 12th 2010 edition, and this is an absolutely gorgeous replica. Hobby Master makes some of the nicest models, anywhere. I have a bit of a collection of them mixed with Corgi, Witty and Century Wings, Gaincorp and Falcon Wings.

    Felicitations! I'd say Hobby Master has the superior casting quality, here's why. I have a Witty F/A-18C Hornet and a Hobby Master CF-188A, the Canadian version of the Hornet. Looking at them nose on, I noted the HM cast is more accurate in that the intakes are shaped properly and the wings are canted properly, in that they angle downwards from wingroot to tip. The Witty is pretty much straight across and the intakes are almost perfectly circular. Paint and detail are equal for both.

    @truthquest Can you keep all bay doors shut, so that you could position it on the stand as if it were flying?

    @Mc9300 Elmendolf Raptor? I'm afraid I've already sold it to replace with a Nellis Raptor (HA2804) which is a little bit more superior in quality. The only problem is that the Nellis does not include bomb parts, which Elmendolf one does.

    The F-14 in the background is a 1:48 scale model made by Franklin Mint. Unfortunately they are out of business.

    @123BobaFett I guess you mean Corgi models (aviation archive). I would say they the hobbymaster models are a step ahead of Corgi in terms of detail. I wouldn't use the word delicate for either brand as they are both made fairly sturdy, but this is in terms of collectible models. They certainly have parts that are breakable if mishandled.

    Where are these diecast models made?

  • @truthquest
    @truthquest12 жыл бұрын

    @dogfight001 By HobbyMaster in Hong Kong. Manufactured by chinese, to be exact. In my opinion, Hobbymaster is the best in quality, compared with counterparts like Doragon models in Hong Kong, Corgi in UK, IXO in Macau and so on. However, HobbyMaster's products sometimes lack historical accuracy and quality control. Besides, far as I know, they (chinese people) tend to love vivid coloring as well as colorful painting. That's why there's lots of shark mouse planes in their products.

    I just bought another Raptor belongs to Elmendolf Air Base a few days ago. Overall quality is, I'd say, almost satisfactory. Especially, the color of canopy is, like they announced on the web, a bit modified as it is slightly coated with a golden-like color. Because Langley Raptor's one was just like, seemingly, only a piece of glass. But this time, I mean an Elmendolf Raptor, has a problem. The canopy, like I mentioned, its color modified, but its quality downgraded.
