Dude you don't even owe us your face, don't let them pressure you into bringing down healthy boundaries you have set. If you're not handsome to a point that people will watch you literally just because you are so good looking then there isn't much good it will do you, being handsome sells but if you're a 7 or lower then there is more potential cost than benefit for the reasons you outlined.

Dude i just want to say i really enjoy your channel, im thinking about getting back into the hobby. i watch all the lore channels etc. But what you're doing really fosters a sense of community, which is really cool. been pointing people in your direction when appropriate, so hopefully we can get you to 15k.

To defend airbrushes just a bit, you can get a fair starter one with compressor for about 50 euro at a hardware store. It's a good tool for basecoating without having to buy a new can of spray paint, you'll make that 50 back in hours saved if not in money spent. As to people who rely on an airbrush to establish detail, that's a faster way of getting an army done without being stuck with an army that's flat and basecoats only. One of the best ways to use an airbrush is underpainting with brushes and spraying it with transparent paints to unify the paintjob. When you see a mostly airbrushed army on the table, that could just as well have been grey plastic if not for the expediency an airbrush affords.

a wet pallet slows paint from drying out thus you use less paint. GW sells paint

It's smart that North keeps "reasonable doubt" of his identity with the channel. Particularly since he states it's not his main source of income. It's not hard to find stories of folks losing their job because of a internet video. And some conservative employers would even consider the cursing too much for an employee to be doing online. I am a fan of the channel and appreciate the blunt, direct, nature of the advice provided. A censored version of the channel could still work but i don't know if it would be as entertaining or if the messages would stick as much. As Patton once said, "When I want my men to remember something important, to really make it stick, I give it to them double dirty." One thought, I would love to see crudely animated versions of some of the best / worst hobby nightmares from this channel. Other than the odd model picture there isn't much for "watching" in the videos. Would definitely increase the effort and possible collaboration needed for video creation, but I feel like that would increase appeal and veiwership.

As somewhat of a competitive player, I’ll give my insights on this. So I got into 40K when I was at secondary school. This was a time when PE was mandatory and everyone had to do it. We’ve all had THOSE people in our lives that are hyper competitive in something where it’s ride or die for every game and those were present in that subject a lot to the point where it wasn’t enjoyable for anyone else and sometimes you had a sense of low self worth because of it. So I looked for something that I could be competitive in that I actually stood a chance, which was 40K. Now, the competitive side is more how many combinations can I build and how far can I push my own competitive list into the meta. To be clear, I don’t search up entire lists, make an army and then obliterate the store for a month until the meta has changed, rinse and repeat. I build all my lists by myself and if I take anything from other lists, it’s only one unit that did well in practice and on paper, to be added to my army. This explanation probably got butchered and makes no sense now typed out so apologies for that.

The reason citadel doesn't have A) Wet pallet B) Air brush or compressor C)Dropper bottles I saw this on a video with ex GW product designers. A) They want to sell you more paint. B) They can't make a good quality air brush without it out costing far more than better quality products rebranding an airbrush to the same quality as the top brands. If they did rebrand, it would cost more for relative quality of cheaper Chinese made products. C) Dropper bottles are more for airbrush users. Yes, they can be cleaner to use, and yes, they can fall over without spilling paint. I circle back to my first point. They want to sell you paint. Games Workshop dont need to sell these more modeller driven products. There are many , many others that do. Why would they need or want to compete? What GW does well is sell products to get people into the hobby. Its people first point of warhammer contact, by then most meaningful sales for GW are made.

I don't blame you for having a shred of anonymity on your channel. I think I'd do the same thing in your position. I'm not a teacher, but I am a pediatric x-ray tech, so I know what it's like needing mom and dad to place some trust in you. And you can lose that trust for the stupidest of reasons. You're smart. Keep things the way they are 👍

Couldn't agree more on the "painting tutorials" that flood YT, its beyond ridiculous that I cant find any color scheme of any factions without 20+ videos of slap chop garbage, 90% airbrush method that takes 5 hours for a single marine, all these obscure tools, thinners, oils, and specialty mixes they only know the actual recipe for. its infuriating just trying to find a decent looking hive fleet kraken scheme for everyone to do it in the stupidest, backwards, and time wasting way possible and just have to rely on the 4th edition codex for some simple colors, using an actual brush. I dont need all this extra stupid for a line infantry tabletop model, I just want a decent looking paintjob fairly easily without spending the entire day just to finish a single step
