No joke-it's one of my essential mods (alongside IndyPets and Peek) where I can't even imagine playing without it. I've even gone so far as to build it myself when a new update drops and the mod author hasn't yet updated it to the new version.

@@GSBarlev I agree. I run a server and force players to use it, so much so that our launcher prevents the installation of mod menu and that the config files are redownloaded every time they launch the game. (They can disable it if they disable the mod in the launcher, just not in game.)

Phoenix should sometimes change the "m" in his title to "rn" or "nn" and see if ppl notice it 😂

in terraria, the option to keep inventory is a separate thing you choose when you create a character; whereas difficulty is related to the world you play on. And that makes a lot more sense I think.

The Aztec painting is a spectator mode screenshot of the counter strike map de_aztec, the artist made the full resolution version of the screenshot and painted over it to make a painting before notch ever contacted him about adding it to minecraft

The elytra mod is actually awesome if you have experience with flight simulators. It just makes the elytra control more like a plane would control, allowing for more advanced maneuvering.

3:30 That would lowkey make alot of sense You use the weakness effect + golden apple to turn a zombie villager into a normal villager, the reason the potion is weakness is because you're turning him back into a passive, not attacking mob. A confusion potion + golden apple to turn pillagers into villagers would make alot of sense, because you would confuse on which side he is on

And honestly, a confusion potion would actually be a really cool addition. When an entity has the Confusion effect, it will mistake mobs for other mobs, attacking those that it otherwise wouldn't and vice versa. Iron Golems may attack passive mobs, Zombies might attack each other, Wither Skeletons may ignore players until attacked, etc.

If you have boots with featherfall and armor with protection, you can reduce fall damage by up to 80%. A player at full health can survive falling 103 blocks, which is a lot higher than the standard 23 block limit without armor enchantments

then dont die in the first place, you lose a lot more fun when you realize that without the risk of losing your stuff it is meaningless to you. Theres no reason to fight mobs anymore, so what if you die, you keep your stuff! So what if you are starving, getting food is more effort than just dying and respawning with full hunger.

Same, along with Peek, IndyPets and BetterEnd. I'm trying to limit how I use BetterEnd, though, because one of these days they're going to stop updating (or be made irrelevant by a proper End Update), and I'd rather have to reset a dimension than abandon my world entirely.

The banking turns with elytra already exists in vanilla minecraft. Its in the xbox version by 4j studios. I believe the mod adds the ability to go fully upside down though

Can confirm: _DaBR_ lets you do full loop-de-loops. As for flying level upside down-it's definitely possible, but I've been playing with the mod for over two years now, and I *still* haven't managed to _git gud_ at inverted flight.

fun fact: the aztec paintings are actually thumbnails of counter-strike maps. this is the same with another painting called "target succesfully bombed", which is called "bomb" in the files.

Losing everything to lava or the void really hurts, especially when it was over a simple mistake, such as forgetting to equip your elytra. That’s what makes KeepInv a must-have for me.

Instead of having keep inventory on I have graves, it removes the risk of items despawning or getting deleted in lava. I find it to be a nice middleground between normal gameplay and keep inventory gameplay as you still have to get to the place where you died at.

Theres a mod called Icarus, it basically ads new elytras(wings) on one Hand but the movement from the Barrel Roll mod on the other Hand but in a way less nauseating way. I can only recommend everyone to give it a shot, it makes flying with Elytras so much more fun(you can fly upside down, sideways etc.) plus the mod adds a lot of improvments like flying Costs Hunger and If you wear armor you fly slower.

Did they ever fix the bug where when you got out of the boat you'd TP back to where you got on? The Switch version was _my first_ version, and if you play on Realms, the performance is actually halfway acceptable, but what killed my enjoyment and got me to switch to Java was the bug where mobs-especially pets-would *despawn* when crossing chunk borders. 🪦

I put some thought into this, and imo a good definition of cheating is when you have a group of players who have collectively agreed on rules, and one (or more) goes and violates those rules. It can get a little more complex than that... for example the game devs set the rules and if you're on an official server even if a bunch of players come together and want to RP,, that's not the rules of the server and if someone rolls through and blows them all up that's not cheating. A private server run by those players would be a different matter. But yeah if you just have a single player... it is not possible to cheat. Just to set your own rules. Though if you introduce multiplayer/social elements like achievements and leaderboards cheating is then possible because you have interactions with other users who, again, are largely agreeing to be bound by the game rules set by the devs for those achievements and leaderboards.

this is a great way of putting it, I can't stand people who try to gate keep games like minecraft, its an open world sandbox game where a solid chunk of the playerbase doesn't even play survival

btw a tip for subwoofer lullaby in gd is to look for the arrows on the ground telling you where to jump

the subwoofer lullaby level is very eerie and oddly relaxing

On the subject of gatekeeping the playing experience, the _Do A Barrel Roll_ mod at 4:03 makes elytra flight _so much more challenging¹_ as well as satisfying that if you *don't* play the game with the mod enabled, IMO you're a noob with skill issues¹. Teasing / sarcasm, obviously ¹Skill issues like flying less than 100 blocks and *_violently crash landing_* right next to my front door and the *pool I'd built* for safe landing. Skill issues _et moi_

Unintended way of playing, especially using commands does technically equal cheating. You could say the same for redstone automatic farms and other things in the game too, even if many people do it. What someone's opinion is doesn't change facts. Yeah, not a fan of dropping the items myself - Doesn't really mean playing without items dropping isn't cheating.

5:47 I have some ideas for a game engine and a game in it. I've already started writing a description for it. However, I've interrupted it and plan to continue. I've decided to write it in order to ask what I should choose to keep it based (in the IRL sense). I can't judge for that by myself because I'm autistic. One of the things to choose is whether it's symmetrical and, if it is, how the down direction is determined. One option is to make every object for which it matters have its own down direction. That's what I can see here. Other options are a field that doesn't change, a field that changes in a simple way, a field calculated from another field, and asymmetric. The latter restricts the main new feature I plan to add
