A 24000 TEU container ship up close is huge and you frankly can only believe it when you see it in person. In Hamburg I passed 13,000, 20,000, 23,000 and 24,000 TEU container vessels. Considering that when I started in 1980 the largest was about 3000 TEU it does tell you that size has increased also in world trade!
