Not mentioned much these days, but King George VI with his debilitating stutter , was the monarch who was thrust into kingship, by neccessity, at a most critical time, in the history of Great Britain. His strength was that he was a Bible believing Christian, and The Lord God blessed him and the country, in faithful uncomprimising leadership. Few would acknowledge that it was this king, who called for a day of prayer throughout the land, when 350,000 British Troops faced annihalation at Dunkirk. It was a miracle that they were all delivered through divine intervention. The highest in the land attended Westminster Abbey, in London that day, led by King George VI . Who would ever think that an armarda of small vessels and weather patterns combined with the policies of Hitler, would allow those soldiers to be plucked from peril to freedom, to fight another day.
