This ,light looks great. The simplistic build, which to others may look cheap, but to me it looks better built than others I've seen. Excited to see the results of the new cree diodes in a full grow. This might end up in my tent soon. .

Those saying it looks week, what do you mean by that ? My impression is it's looks light weight and breaths tons of air and more circulation. Another thing about the week look if it hangs high, level, and out of the way that's great if you hang high and let the plant go up anyway I never planned to put a come-along on my light to switch out a V-8 engine so looks Sweet to me.

The chips are Cree, the HLG guy said so in the latest podcast.

hello , i was just reading your tomohawk article and you said the 650 is good for a 4x4 . I have the 720 over 5x5 and its dominating. I have v2 diablos as well and its blowing them away. I dont whats up with this new chip but its much better, magnesium requirements are less under the tomohawks for some reason too.

They are Cree built with HLGs participation in design phase. HLG is the only light company to have designed lighting diodes with two top tier chip maker's quite the accomplishment

Crazy you mentioned the AC Infinity lights. I was looking this morning. I was trying to figure out how i could use their new controller on the original ES300 and to see if there was an adapter for that new USBC type connectors. Then i thought, "maybe I'll just get one of their lights" but there was no info Now i see this. Crazy.

I recently got the 720, probly would've been fine with the 650 but I know i would've wondered "would it have been a better yield/quality with the upgrade?" The only thing I dislike is that they say the warranty is void if you mount the driver directly to the light

@@elizabeth-2213 depending on your home/setup you might want to put the driver outside the tent, since the driver is where most of the heat comes from. I kept mine inside the tent because mine is in my basement and I needed the heat inside the tent

Hey, great videos! I was wondering if the tomahawk730 would work in a 4x4? Or would that be to much? I plan to get a bigger tent someday and would like to already have a light ready without haveing to upgrade that, just dont have the space right now. Thanks

I like it much more than the Diablo. It's pretty basic, parts wise, and most especially, price wise! I've never been a big fan of their overpriced, IMO, fixtures. This fixture puts out great performance, along with a great price, and one of the best Warranties available today. Much props to HLG with this one! 👍💯✌️

Telos looks so strong compared and Telos got Bluetooth..Telos is like the land-rover of led and when leds are worn out. They sale replacement kits very cheep ...I've had 4 different leds ....that's my thoughts

You ever wonder why the big depensary grows never use led lights? They only use hid. Metal halide and high pressure sodium. Because they're just better. Led lights are good for supplementary lighting to add with hid lights or if you can't afford the electricity bill that comes with hid lighting but that's about it. Dont believe all the hype when it comes to grow products. The way you know what really works best is to look at what the best growers are using and that would be the gavita hps lights.

@EliteNugz Lol Wrong They are stuck in old school grow mode! Yes, I used HID MV MH HPS all of the types of lights back in the day, but with UV supplemental lighting we have everything covered. With a major drop in electricity, heat, cooling, and overall cost.

FYI just do a Google search for HLG tomahawk and you'll find a HLG rep with a HLG header and they reveal who the company is l. Look for name Angela. That should help you out bud

Bet you anything these are bottom bin samsung diodes. Exact same size and shape as the old ones, but way cheaper for HLG which means more profit for HLG.

Probably ledestar led diode...they have a 302h that is comparable to a Samsung 301h/b in PPE and Ppf, but half the cost

They are not Samsung diodes or Ledestar. I doubt they would ever use bottom bin. They specs are still pretty impressive. Not the highest efficacy ever, but still really good.

It may ‘look’ cheap to some people, but I don’t think it does. The performance is good!

This is not a very good light. The build quality is crap and the output is subpar for its price. Don't let their name trick you and the fact that they don't release the information on their diodes. The growers choice e720 is a way better light for the money. It also can put out 800 w if you use the light controller. Growers choice also has supplemental lights with UV specifically for the e720 for only like $100.

Agreed, i just picked up a 750 watt 2000umol light for 449$, this light is a joke for value, unless the build quailty is military spec or something

I just had an hlg 600 R-Spec with a 3-year warranty that had the dimmer knob go out and nothing else wrong with it completely replaced after two years and 11 months. One month left on the warranty and only the dimmer knob not working. The day that I took it in the shop called hlg, they put a new 600 R-Spec in the mail, and the entire process from taking the light down to hang it back up took less than a week. Time to grow up kid. Price isn't everything.

Nice light, I don't care for the cheap dimmer W/ such an expensive light! upgraded dimmer would be nice HLG! Shane always says he gets the "special" Leds from Samsung😏EVOS - like on the new Samsung T.V? my best guess? I would look at grow light science, has a nice new light & great price too it's there new LED light The 1800 / $420.00💯👊WOW!

Explain cheap? I would agree the box is plastic but A potentiometer is a three-terminal resistor with a sliding or rotating contact that forms an adjustable voltage divider. If only two terminals are used, one end and the wiper, it acts as a variable resistor or rheostat so the internal parts are not really cheap and work as should also that can be changed if you understand how to pick a different working model that is compatible.

​@@RassDroidA great example is seeing a graph showing the bell curve of Lumens (which humans perceive), compared to a graph of PAR, Photosynthetic Active Radiation (which plants perceive and use). For the most part, Lumens don't detect most of the Blue and Red light output. Yet Blue and Red are the colors that plants use the most for Photosynthesis. For plants, it's all about the PAR, PPF, and PPFD! I was very surprised myself by this incredible difference in measuring light. Many great videos explaining it, now.👍💯✌️
