Designed? It’s just a Russian 9M14 Sagger with a Chinese name and modified warhead. Originally its development started in Russia in 1961 it entered service in 1963.

Yeah it looks like it came from a firework store because it has the quality like it came from a firework store I mean it's an old Soviet weapon no matter how much they want to say it can Pierce 400 MM of armor I'm not going to believe it until I see a 400 MM block of solid composite armor.

@@onewhowatchesfromveryveryfar it was actually very successful against tanks of its time. It killed dozens(conservative numbers) of Israeli operated Centurions, M60s, and M48s in the beginning of the 1973 Yom Kippur war.

@@onewhowatchesfromveryveryfar no you aren’t the M60 was a MBT with decent armor for its day. The M48 was its predecessor. Their armor was effective against machine gun, light cannon and some older tank rounds.

Yeah they had a railgun aircraft carrier that we designed but they stole the designs through spying and they didn't even build it to our specifications so it's already broken and the runway needed to be repaired already, oh and what I mean by railgun aircraft carrier is that the normal launch mechanism on the runway of an aircraft carrier is through piston pneumatics, but we came up with a design to use a railgun to launch them instead, and then the Chinese decided that was a good idea to steal, and then half build

@keyeah0 The HJ-73 is the Chinese made copy of the 9M14M Malyutka. Indigenous to China, copied pretty much detail for detail from the Malyutka. The Chinese made their own copies of a LOT of Soviet technology and weapons.

Its basically a maltyutla. Which fought in the six-day war in Israël. Which back then used m48 and centurions. those tanks dont have the armor to with stand that. Noe they do have newer shinier missles. Although these are still in use in rear area units. As the still have BMP -1's armed with these things

400mm really isn't that impressive when most modern MBTs are rated in the thousands of millimeters of chemical energy protection, even the sides tend to be in the mid hundreds, even more so when equipped with ERA BUT it was very good for it's time, so you can't really judge it too harshly.

This version seems to have a tandem charge , most western tanks have thin side armour anyway so it could probably penetrate from the sides.

@@jigglie8077 This was the missile originally used on the BMP-1 before the Konkurs missile replaced it in the BMP-1-P. Its crews noted that the missile was both hard to load and aim. (edit: the HJ-73 was not used on the BMP-1 but it was a direct copy of the 9M14 which was used on the BMP-1 and the HJ-73 has all the same issued I mentioned earlier)
