HiWonder MaxArm Robot Arm Unboxing Software Preview Arduino MicroPython ESP32 BT Kinematics Part 1

I review my HiWonder open source MaxArm robot arm that can be programmed in Arduino C or MicroPython with tons of examples and you get to learn about kinematics. Is also remote controlled via Bluetooth on a phone app, PS2 style controller, regular mouse and PC Software control via USB connection. Also has a penumatic suction endeffector for pick and place style applications. Is 4 DOF. If you are studyin mechatronics or robotics or mechanics this is the arm to get. You get to study the algorithms for robot arm control. Is a lot of fun, but it takes a while to go thru all of the awesome experiments!
Check out part 2, 3 and 4 of this robot's review: • HiWonder MaxArm Robot ...

Thanks for the review! I noticed you had LV on your desktop. Any plans to work with this in LV? I was thinking I could control in LV via the Arduino. Still researching possibilities. I did enjoy your review! Thanks!

Thanks for all the comments! I do use LV. I think there is a possibility like you can use an Arduino board in LV. Is all serial commands so you just need to be able to send those commands via LV to ESP32 wired or wirelessly, BT or WiFi like the apps do. I'll be in Europe for the next couple of weeks but when I return I plan to do more videos on all of the products I am learning from. Thanks again!

@@SoCalRobots Looking forward to more videos! I've used LV's VISA Write to communicate via serial commands to the Arduino. I'm hoping I can do something similar with the HiWonder Maxarm.

@@SoCalRobots I purchased one of the MaxArms. With Arduino and and LV's VISA Write I was able to control the MaxArm within Labview. Now I need to see if I can get this to work. One of my biggest challenges is picking up tiny parts and placing them precisely where I want, then picking them up again. The vacuum is nice working with blocks, but not sure if this suction cup will work for me. Thanks again for making the videos!

Hello, I bought the MaxArm standard kid. but I have a problem that is that with the application installed on my computer (Window 11) I do not have communication through any port to the robot, the green light turns on on my computer, it shows com. 4, com 5. but the robot does not move. I have reset several times. any suggestions? . With the mouse ok, also with the app on the iPhone works ok.
