Oktavia, you have it all. Perfect balance between vocals, range, harmonies, mix, lyrics (every line is so beautifully crafted), subs and performance. And each of these things are hard enough on their own for a single person. I'm absolutely stunned. And that rarely happens.

Oh lawd. I've been on a binge of Oktavia songs and.... geeze. This may be one of my favorites now. I didn't even know of this song before now ack. 10/10 IGN (even if the pv is very uncanny valley like all the typical 'so spoopy' vocaloid songs don't bother me but this did hfduaoifhas) As an aside, though it is probably meant to be about an abusive relationship, I got the idea of it being about someone who hasn't necessarily been abused but believes they deserve it, someone overly masochistic or full of self loathing. They know it's wrong, and that it's bad, and they want to stop, but just can't. Either way I LOVE THIS AHH

i relate to this song A Whole Lot and i think that its about having been abused by someone close to them (not necessarily a significant other), which traumatized them and thus theyre not able to let themself be loved purely, instead seeking out more abuse, since its what theyre used to. i might be wrong and like... im projecting... but hear me out: lines like "cut with cuts that never close", "cant ignore the horrors that ive seen", "but the cuts stick to my skin time after time" - these all sound like having been through something traumatizing and not being able to recover to me. the whole beginning verse is basically "you treat me well but i dont know how to handle that and want to ruin this" imo, which... is a very specific trauma feeling and also, lines like "who is that staring back at me?" "are they even mine?", "both my defenseless core and empty form resemble such an air, where theyre contorted and distorted" feel like theyre about dissociation to me this is, however, just my interpretation that i want to share--

I've always avoided this because it was a Kikuo song and they're usually so good but with dark meanings but this seriously didn't disappoint! I'm amazed on how I avoided such a gem in your covers. Been playing this and the original song on repeat for hours

I think it's someone recovering from a past abusive relationship, being unable to find happiness in their new, healthy relationship due to the emotional trauma from the past not having healed completely.

Adding on to what Savos Mok said, speaking from my own experience, the quieter bits explain that the speaker struggles to accept that the happiness they're experiencing in their new, healthy relationship is REAL, likely due to spending so long in an abusive relationship that anything different from that abusive norm seems strange or fake. I know myself that it can be hard to accept kindness at first in a relationship in areas where you've been hurt before, when you're just waiting for the other shoe to drop. To me, this song is saying the speaker would rather go back to an abusive relationship, to go back to the hurt they were experiencing before, because at least in that environment they know what to expect and how to feel and act, while in this "perfect" new relationship they're constantly filled with anxiety because their heart is telling them that the honest happiness they see is a trap. TL;DR - What Savos Mok said
