Great video! Is this a standard model of the Solo? Are there other size selections so the tire could be mounted more toward the left rear door instead in the center. between doors. I am think that way I don't have to swing the mount all the time if I only want to open the right rear door ( I seldom had a need to open the left rear door)? Did you do a DIY install and how hard it it to install? Any feedback would be appreciated. thank you in advance!

Thanks! This is the standard model. I think you’ll have to swing it out even with the xl version when accessing the rear doors, but it will allow for swing past 90 degrees. It is really simple. Just pull out the pin and swing. I didn’t do an install video. It literally came in 2 parts. The only assembly is the bolt where the swing hinge is located and tightening the wedge bolt in the receiver. I hope this helps and thanks again! 👍

I have the Solis Pocket. Thank you for this video I appreciate it. I really don’t feel comfortable traveling in the van without a spare, and this is a good option. Can I ask, if you had to change the tire would you use the jack provided by winnebago?

I use that in tandem with a 8000lb bottle jack that I carry. It is super small (stores at 8inchs), but still lifts the vehicle. The van itself weighs just under 10,000 lbs, so use this as an additional safety measure. Have a wonderful day and thank you for watching. Let me know if you have additional questions!

Great video! I'm looking for a spare tire carrier solution for my Ford Transit 250 camper van. Unfortunately, the propane fill is located just under the rear bumper on the far right side. Can you measure the swing arm length, when closed, to see if it would clear my propane fill? Thanks!

We have not had any issues, we were a bit concerned about it covering up the license, but have been good so far.

I have a Solis 59 on a 2022 Chassis. Do you have ParkSense sensors in your bumper and does this carrier interfere with those sensors?

The 2021 doesn’t have sensors in the bumper so I’m not sure if the carrier would interfere. Sorry I’m no help, but thanks for the comment and have a nice weekend!

Thanks. Great video and very helpful. The Wilco website says that the XL is the only version that will fit the Solis, but you have a different version. Which version did you purchase? Standard?

That is correct. We purchased the standard. It swings wide enough so the van doors can open 90 degrees, but not much past that.

@@kallet13 I did add an additional master lock to the setup for additional security, honestly I don’t see how someone would be able to get it off without a struggle. It’s pretty heavy! Have a good one! 👍

What's the total length of it from one end to the other end, after you install it into the hitch? Also how far away is it from the bumper? I have a high clearance bumper that came with 2 shackle mounts that are welded to the bumper. I don't want to make the purchase if it sits flush with the bumper.

I would check manufacturer dimensions. - but it is roughly 21 ft.

Can you provide the model # of the hitch gate you purchased? I don’t see one that just says Standard. Thanks !

As of yet, no one has said anything. I’d say only one digit is not visible when looking straight on. They do make a license plate relocation bracket if we ever are told we need to move it. Thanks for the question! 👍
