Have a blue 201, great disc

I recently acquired a Ford 601 16-65 picker. Serial no. 5130. Was told it's a 1954 . First year built? It has a " low tin" snout on the right side that is similar to the left. Have not seen another like it. The picker is in very good original condition except for some barnyard partial repaint. Are you familiar with this type of snout? I don't have social media. Just here thanks.
