I think Taeyeon was sick at this time. You can tell that she looked/sounded tired and in Mr Mr she kept her head down most of the time. She didn't look happy ;( Anyways this performance was better than "Like a Star" tbh. Taeyeon and Chen sounded heavenly amazing! 👫 Fighting!

It's not like Taeyeon is cheating on him with Chen or something like that. Would have enjoyed this performance even more without all the delulu Baekyeon comments - this is "Breath" and Baekhyun wasn't part of SM the Ballad, why would you be mad that it wasn't Baek? Claudia Ma It's fair to want to see a Baekhyun/Taeyeon stage and understandable for fans. However, I don't think it's fair to say that Chen's just "trying to show his skills" - why would he need to TRY to show his skills? They're right there for the world to see already - to put it that way makes it sound like he's singing to show off, which he certainly is not. I think he did fine conveying the emotions here, though he did that better with ZLY (just a matter of stage/duet chemistry).

pandastack and also there's the fact that liyin and chen spent more time together, probably had a lot more time to discuss things to show better performances, taeyeon and him probably didn't have much time to do that. i love chen and liyin's version better but i think they did well.

Chen and Jonghyun have similar voice tone/color but Jonghyun and Taeyeon have the chemistry. The emotion of the song is perfectly spread by Tae-Jong. Same with Chen who fit the mandarin version of this song with Zhang Liyin.

Chen was holding it in for Taeyeon because he knew she was not feeling well so he tried his best not to over power her :) But tbh their voices didn't harmonize well with each other...

+Kuno Baka Probably because they both have low-mid voices. Usually people who harmonize best are those with opposite voices. Ex: High pitch - Deep. Taeyeon/ Baekhyun or Jessica/Chen would probably sound better. Also, Chen projects better than Taeyeon but Taeyeon sounds more emotional. Both are incredibly stable. Tae is also a bit sick so Chen doesn't want to overpower her out of respect. Jonghyun also stated something similar when he sung with SJ's Yesung ( I think his name is).

Kuno Baka it's cuz Chen' voice pretty much dominates the 4th octave and that's what this song is plus Taeyeon was sick. If they were gone put it into the 5th octave and Taeyeon wasn't sick then Chen's voice would drown out

I think this is one of Chen's best performances vocally. With EXO songs, they often make him strain his voice to reach notes that he hasn't been taught to reach healthily. This song suited him perfectly, and the harmonies were awesome.

+Miranda Feng I know that he has an incredible range, but if you watch songs like Promise live, there are notes that his voice breaks on almost all the time. Also if you look at his neck, all of the muscles are very tense and that's not a healthy way to sing. This is nothing against him as a singer, he's one of the best singers I think I've ever heard! But he gets put under a lot of pressure to hit them even if he's not feeling well and what not.

Chen and Taeyeon really did great but as you can see Taeyeon seemed tired and sick and although Chen noticed that she is sick, he's not trying to overpower his voice so that he can blend it in with her voice... If Baekhyun would've had the chance to sing "Breathe" with Taeyeon, it would be an amazing collaboration but it would be awkward because they had dated before so I give it a thumbs up for Chen to be able to perform with her!! Taeyeon was really sick during the KBS Gayo Deju. She tried her best and it is rlly hard to sing 3 songs when you are really sick and thats not even including the dance for Mr.Mr. Plus it was their first domestic performance without Jessica. If you guys actually lost a close friend of yours then you would understand the pain to stand on a stage that you have been on for 7 years without her.

I think Taeyeon should've sung with Jonghyun like she usually does for Breath because Chen's vocals overpower hers so they don't really harmonize well. Also can you guys comment on the performance instead of how jealous Baekhyun would be, considering it's hard to believe they even exist as a couple, let alone be jealous of his band mate for singing. Anyway it'll be a longgg time until SM lets Baekyeon sing together because even now, a lot of EXO-L still hate the whole dating thing.

Honestly, I have always wanted a duet between Chen and Taeyeon. Their voice is amazing! :)) One of the best I have ever heard in the KPOP industry. I think we are all use to Jonghyun's voice and not Chen's. Even if their voice don't sound good together. You still can't deny the fact that they slayed the performance. Also, I think Taeyeon isn't feeling well during the KBS peformance. But still, she tried her best. ^^ so, Sones and EXO-L, let's just enjoy their performance. :) P.s (Those that don't like either one of them, get out please. Their performance of I Really Didn't Know is still my top favorite performance ever out of any EXO members, it's just breathtaking every time.
