That was fun. My heart nearly stopped when you almost took a knife to that carded figure. For me it brings me back to walking the toy Ile when they seemed to go on forever.

it brings me tears of joy every time i hear the opening beats of the intro, Quicksilver calling for Tally-Hawk, followed by the screech.

Criminally underrated show. Epic intro music even in an era of epic into music. I still kick myself that my parents sold all my figures. Loved it so much I have a giant tattoo of Monstar on my thigh.

The Silverhawks were one of my all-time favorite cartoons. It had so many excellent aspects and even a wacky intergalactic mob. Tally Hawk made me learn more about and appreciate real birds of prey. I also have a chunk of cartoon adaptions done both by Marvel and DC. Those are fun to flip through at times.

The Silver Hawks intro was one of those that stuck with you. The crisp energetic animation coupled with that sweet guitar riff really drew you in. It was also a minute and change, enough to illustrate the characters, the villains, the setting and even a bit of the cartoon's dynamic. Effective story telling from a legendary era. Thanks for another great video Ultrasonic Mike!

It wasn't until watching this and you mentioning the comics that I realized the similarities between Quicksilver and Darkhawk, at least as far as character design and powers. I wonder if there was some influence from one generation to another.

I think Darkbird was the episode where you see Quicksilver's one weakness. He's worked hard to cultivate his squeaky clean image, and is more angered he's being dragged than the actual evil being done. As they say it's personal with Darkbird.

Great video. The original, 1st release Quicksilver was the only SilverHawks figure I had (other than villian Buzz-Saw) back in the day. I will always be amazed at how well kept are your SilverHawks figures, with the vac-metalized finish looking as good as brand new, congrats on that. Also, it's always nice to hear your thoughts on the subject of the rampant speculation that goes on these days with vintage toys collecting; very detrimental to the hobby itself and the community around it.

Silverhawks and Thundercats have really great intros and the quality of animation of both shows was consistent, unlike Transformers, G. I. Joe, and MASK. Having just one animation company (Pacific Animation Corporation) do all the episodes paid off. Side note: current Los Angeles Kings and future Hall of Fame goaltender's name? Jonathan Quick. Both were "born" in 1986. Great video, Michael!

Great vid, as always. Have to honest though, Silverhawks was always Thundercats lite for me. I knew they were produced by the same people, and were usually on back to back, which just made the differences all the more apparent. Never hated it, was just never completely engrossed by it, like TC.

It's funny you should bring up over priced toys from the 80's. I was at my local antique mall yesterday, and they have a whole section of vintage toys from the 80's, and 90's. A friend of mine, and myself were talking about just how insane some of the prices of these older toys are getting. We saw a castle grayskull there that wasn't complete, in rough shape, missing stickers. It did come with the original box, but the box was really banged up. They wanted 400 dollars for it. I commented to my friend that I can see this market imploding one day, because a lot of these toys are being re-released. So why would I pay 400 dollars for this Grayskull when I can just go to toys are us, and buy the new one. Which is almost identical to the old one for 80 dollars. Even crazier than that I saw someone was selling an empty box for a G1 transformer, and they were asking 40 dollars for it. With that said I do totally understand the fun of rediscovering a toy from your childhood, and the nostalgia that comes with it, but there has to be a reasonable price limit. Like you said in the video hundreds of dollars for a silver hawk toy barely anyone had ( a toy I didn't know existed until watching this video) going for hundreds of dollars is crazy. Money that can be spent on a lot of other stuff. Like that new version of Quick Silver that looks really cool. Good video.

before I begin I gotta say I'm still salty they cancelled the thundercats reboot, especially with that episode potentially leading up to a similar silverhawks/tigersharks revival, I enjoyed it a lot! definitely had a good chunk of the figures too, I loved that metallic chrome finish. (I heard it was super prone to flaking though?) heard there was a modern revival in the works though its been a while since I've heard any news but, still crossing my fingers!
