As a Lancia club member, I complete understand this passion for these cars. Great brief history of Lancia, I am about to start my restoration of my Fulvia series 11 1300s followed by my 2000HF coupe. Wish me luck. Bob.

Lancia was most inovative brand. Always cool. German cars never was and never will be even near Lancia. That stayle and that feeling can't be substitue by anyone. Saab is the only car I want to drive after Lancia, but only Lancia can give that feeling. Always simple " la bella figura"

German automakers are more than a match for any Italian producer including Lancia. German engineers have produced more advancements in technology than any other auto producing country. If Lancia and SAAB are so wonderful why didn't they sell sufficiently to guarantee their independence? SAAB is dead and Lancia sells one model and only in Italy. Germany's weakest marque , OPEL, comes close to outselling Italy's biggest FIAT.

@@williamegler8771 german cars can't reach anything even close Italians. German car industries are simple and only nothing but iron without any feeling. You and people like you wich buying that german overated crap never could understand the meaning of the Lancia or Saab cars. World is changing and time is changing and today is the age of idiots, plastic , and lies so of course that companys couldn't survive because they are made for different people. If you compare one avarage WV driver or one Lancia or Saab driver you will see the difference. That's the point , no numbers of sold cars. Lancia was on the level with Bentley in the past not with stupid WV, Audi, BMW and the rest of overated german shit. STYLE STYLE STYLE, POWER TO BE DIFFERENT, that's the meaning of the life not the fucking numbers.

The great Lancia´s!!, my father had a Lancia Aprilia whicht he bought new from Italy in the 1950,during his Diplomatic services for the Argentine Air Force in Brazil, when back to Argentina he raced this car with great success against the usual rival of the time MG TC 1947!!!!.. Lancia are very well made machines,"technical excuisite" for exclusively heartly "mechanical sensibilty" drivers, a "Drivers Car" through the years they showedracing prestige all over the world, the Lancia Fulvia is one of my favorite cars by far!!!!,very good video thanks for sharing!!!!...

Overlooked even by Nigel Trow is that, to get the front suspension in the Lambda to work properly, Lancia had to develop what was effectively the first fluid filled telescopic damper (integrated into each of the sliding pillars). These are universally used today.

I will always say that lancia is luxury Italian brand close to Maserati. When people say that Italian cars are not quality, they have never experienced Italian car. The thing has sole. It is peace of art with usability.

So sad that FIAT havent invested in Lancia recently. So sad its almost gone.Look at Citroens DS brand...Could Lancia survive as a boutique car marque? When the Delta and Ypsilon came to the UK they for some unexplicable reason they were Chryslers! The younger gereration are fully aware of Lancia through countless computer games so the brand recognition is there.Hopefully PSA group will ask FIAT to revive Lancia.

i can listen contentedly to those Italian men & women speaking English as long as they wish to talk. An observation: many of the Lancias pictured had right-hand drive setup, whereas Italians drive on the RH side of the road, thus putting the Lancia driver on the inside half of the traffic lane. How was this permissible in Italy at the time?

In those years it was allowed. All Lancias had standard right drive in the 1950s. driving on the left was an optional extra, very expensive.

this was an incredible brand for innovation, class, technology, sport and driving pleasure.... but unfortunately also with terrible marketing men in its history and, after the 90s, the misfortune of having alfaromeo and all the men- Alfaromeo marketers arrived from Arese and with absolute power within the Fiat group who worked only to destroy Lancia. And they worked very well for this, unfortunately in typical italian style. Lancia in German hands today would be considered well above Audi and BMW.
