From what I heard from my elders the theory with the tripuris seems similar. I can remember the King son's name though. Long time Back in Dimapur, the king had two and both The two son's wanted to sit in the thron and become a king. ( Now i am confused bet. Elder n younger, sorry 🙏🏻) So, they decided to do it with sword. While fighting one son got the blade portion of the sword and the other got the wooden handel of the sword( Called Seng in dimasa) . So, The son who got the wooden handel left the kingdom and went to establish his new kingdom and now they are Tripuris. While the other son who got the blade portion are now Dimasas. ** we ( Hojai, dimasa pujari) still used kinfe(seng) without wooden handel while worshiping ( Giving Bali) ** I saw a vedio, where a tripuri pujari using a small wooden log and biting in the throat of a hen before cutting it with a knife).

Bodocha, Dimacha,Tripracha were once the same family members of a father and mother and that is why, their language, their culture, their body structures were all similarities within them. But today situations and all their thinking, language, culture have been found changed each other abd today the present generation don't agree themselves to be same family members and rather their thoughts are seen to have been widened separated.

One group was pushed into Dima Hasao and today are known as Dimasas and another group went to the hills south and became Twiprasas. Even today Bodos are found from Sadiya to Dhubri.

If we look they are claiming koch and dimasa history by using the term mech and kachari. but truth is that they never even have a community name before 1848. their even community name was invented by #christian evangelist. and wrote many fancy and mindborn stories for these nomadic barbarians. but alongwith that these evangelist also wrote their nomadic barbarity. b. g hodgson in his book wrote about bodos as ''the bodos and dhimals are so nomadic they dont have any village name in their let alone a kingdom'' and he also, wrote that the bodos and dhimals were drivenout in the jungles by koch kings. so this implies a nomadic group so barbaric who dont have even any village settlement and live in jungles and dont know settled farming cant be a founder of civillised states of koch and dimasa. w.w hunter even wrote in his a statistical account of assam vol. ii. chapter 1. goalpara and eastern duar. the meches and kacharis of eastern duars are barbaric dont have any settled farming, settled villages, ancestral history and any folk literature and songs and are highly nomadic. and he also wrote that the mech and kachari of eastern duars(present kokrajhar and chirang) are recent settlers. which shows that they are not aborgines.

I would like to inform and public the real feelings of Dimasa tribes that they never welcome the Bodo peoples of entire Assam as equal to them. Because as a Bodo inhabitant of Nagaon district I know their mentality. These dimasas always speaks the kachari kingdom was ruled by dimasas but I would like to clarify and inculcate them that history is not only the source to gain Pre history and history also FOLK TALES is also there. Its hopeless to talk with Dimasa peoples about Assam history specially kachari kingdom because since long ago they had created a difference and this fact is unknown to the BODO peoples of the northern Brahmaputra valley but we Bodos living in Nagaon district known it very well and victimized.

Loool. Triprasas and Dimasas are the only groups that are closely related to one another. And we have a clear history of where we came from. Not once does our history claim to be related to other Kacharis. Neither of the groups ever heard the names of Bodos or had anything to do with Bodos/Garos or other Kachari tribes. Just remember that 'Kachari' doesn't exist, it's just a term given by anthropologists. Bodos, Rabha, Garos, Tiwa, Mech and all are of another branch. Language similarity answers nothing. Never call us Bodos. Tripuris and Dimasas have a common history and heritage. WE DONT HAVE ANY COMMON HISTORY WITH ANY OF THE KACHARI TRIBES. Don't try to bring bodos between us and spoil it claiming that we're one. Both Dimasas and Tripuri culture is more akin to other Kuki-Chin-Mizo and Naga tribes than your Bodo, Tiwa and all, which is very Indian in nature. Even genetically Tripuri and Dimasas are the closest to one another. All Bodos I have met look different from the generic Dimasas or Tripuris. Tripuris and Dimasas are a mix of other tribes who are christian today. This is another common thing between Dimasa and Tripuri, besides the first Tripuri kings being basically a Dimasa. And our language is also the most similar to one another. Don't disrespect yourself and your ancestors by calling yourself a Bodo. They have literally no history.

When it comes to the history of Dimasa Kingdom, anybody with basic knowledge of Assam history, n the population distribution of Assam can say that Dimasas n Boros lived in different locations at the same time. When Dimasa Kings were ruling in Maibang, Boros were living under Ahom kings. Dimasa culture share more similarities with Tripuris, Zemi Nagas, Konyaks etc than with Boros.

This is just a folk myth. Bodos had been living in Duars and Darjeeling Terai long before Ahoms came to India from Yunan China. When Bhaktiya Khilji destroyed Nalanda and advanced towards Kamrup in early 1200s, he came across a powerful Bodo chieftain who he converted to Islam and named Ali Mech. Bodos were never in Dimapur. Bodos have no relation with Dimapur. Bodos' original capital was Sikhwnajhar near Bhutan-Bengal border. Bodo and Dimasa separated at least 1500 years ago.

Dear Bodo people please don't make us Dimasas hate you by claiming our Dimasa Kingdom as yours. Thank you. Yes, we're related. But who cares? You guys separated 2000-2500 years ago (or more) from Dimasas. And even back then I don't think we were one. Even Tripuris, our closest brother, don't act like you people, who're like a person from another family to us. And we don't care about Kachari Kachari. Every Sino-Tibetan person who immigrated to this part and had similar genetic admixture is bound to share a common phenotype. That being said there are many subtle differences in appearance present in Bodos, Tripuris and Dimasas - which is the result of alienation from other indo-aryan people or intermixing with other tibeto-burman tribes. And the word Kachari was exclusively used for Dimasas and nothing else. No we weren't one. And Dimasa kings fought many other KACHARI people and even captured their land. This is a sign that we didn't have a cordial relationship. Dimasas seperated from Boros 2000 years ago. Not 500. 500 years ago we were still in Maibang. 500-1000 years ago we were in Dimapur. This is also the time when Triprasas separated from Dimasas, when Dakhin moved southwards along with some Dimasas and other tribes to present day Cachar, forming a new identity 'trprasas'. 1000-1500 years ago we were living in Lakhimpur, Dhemaji district and the areas close to it. Our ruins are still scattered there in Golaghat. It was around this time we crossed the river, leaving behind some of our people (not boros, but our own tribe) who're now known as Sonowals, however today's Sonowals are said to be a mix of various tribe and Indo-Aryan people. 1500 - 2000 years ago we were in Tirap region of Arunachal. We had not much to do with Tani people, but were closely related to other northern Naga groups. This can be said because Kachari language overlaps with Northern Naga groups rather than Tani people of Arunachal. Here our neighbours were Sutiyas, Deoris, Morans, Tangsa, Wangsa, Konyaks etc. Dimasa people knew about Sutiya and Morans and other Naga groups during this time. 2000-3000 years ago we don't have much idea about it. But through language affinity we can say that Kacharis and Northern Nagas groups were the same yellow-river people who entered NE India from South-West China. So we come to the conclusion that all distinct Kachari groups diverged from one another around this 2000-3000 timeframe, forming different identity as time progressed. It's believed that Kachari along with other Naga groups were among the first Sino-Tibetan people that migrated here exactly around 3000 years ago, not before that. Respect each other by looking through some history books. Or at least have a vaguuuuue understanding of your own tribe's history. This will answer many questions by itself.

I feel you want your viewers to believe that kacharis are bodos thts not how ot works, we existed differently in different locations at the same time visit Dimapur Dhansiri Diphu Hojai DimaHasao Kashpur area the Dimasa kachari habitat is more and the language similarity with bodos is roughly 40% whereas Dimasa share more similarities with Tiprasa people language and dialect similarity is more then 80% It is said The King of Dimapur had two sons the younger brother wanted throne but with laws elder brother will be given the chance to seat on the throne then the younger brother tried to steal the royal sword then the elder brother tried to stop the younger brother and during the quarrel the sword got seperated with the botong ( the handle) the younger brother with botong left the kingdom with his followers thats how the kingdom of Tripura was established whereas the elder brother remained in Dimapur with the sheng( the upper part of sword) thts how u will see today when the tiprasa people do puja they used botong (handling part of the sword) while the Dimasa people use sheng (the upper part of the sword ) I can see that the Bodo people trying to brain wash the younger generation making them believe that the Dimapur is theres the whole kachari is bodo read the history and analyse it why the British left the name Cachar to only in Dimasa Habitant areas because the real Cachari term was used to Dimasas by the Sylheti people thats the reason the Britishers used Cachari term to define us , every tribe has given the name to the other tribes with their dialect , eg- Dimasas people say magamsa to the Nagas but Naga people dnt call themselves Magamsa they call themselves Naga . the North Cachar Hills presently DimaHasao is dominated by Dimasa people whereas the Cachar highest population leaving the bengali ( Sylheti) immigrants are Dimasas after that manipuri Rabha the way Bodos are trying to define Kachari kingdom as their kingdom and all are same its like telling Chinese people you are not Chinese you are Mongolian because you all are Mongolian human race it doesn't make sense the same way Bodo are not bodos they are Tibetans because they came from Tibet.. the logic is meaningless

bodos and dimasa have mostly linguistic similarities.. its like bengali and odia... Assamese or like tamil telegu... which sounds the same.. other than linguistic similarities nothing is similar... if we go to history part i wonder why didn't bodo people have established any other kingdom or kings apart frm their so clamed dimapur which by default belong to dimasa as refered by the Ahoms and British.. you people need the tag kachari to be called kachari.. while dimasa can leave the tag kachari and still have the glory of dimapur maibang and khaspur even to include hojai and diphu it defines our history and people.. our ancestors has given blood fr this.. so it really hurts my sentiment... when bodo try hard in such manner.. there we have freedom fighters fighting again all odds such as Ahoms Mughals British and Burmese .. i thing bodo were cultivators surving Ahoms and British... we dimasa has less population due to continuous engagement in wars...bt i thing bodos need the tag kachari to define their identity which we dnt need.. a to add further we even have bodo surname.. who knw British were refering the dimasa surname bodosa... which by sound and spelling are the same... like langthasa kempraisa nunisa we have bodosa.... as our surname

Boro and Bodo are same. A Barua is a surname held by people of different ethnicity in Assam. In ancient times before the advent of the Ahom kingdom, it was a title used as a military rank for a person who commanded around 10, 000 men.

Historical examples, such as Kasitora Borua , Gajraj Borua , Harsing Bora etc who were Chutia officials. After the downfall of the Chutia kingdom this titles were reintroduced in the Ahom paik system .

"Bodo" or Bodo-hari ( Bathari) is one of the 40 male clans (sengphong) in Dimasa kachari...Dimapur is always been of Dimasas..Present Boro kacharis can associate themselves with above mentioned sengphong (male clan) offered by Dimasa King.

@바수헴 Not one dimasa cares about bodo xengphong and your tribe written as bodo. No dimasa with bodo xengphong will ever accept they are bodo, just because boro is written as 'bodo'. You guys change our kings name, appropriate our culture and architecture and even borrow our language, then later say you guys didn't borrow any words from us. You're doing this to a small tribe numbering around 150,000. Shameless. You guys even build miniature version of Dimasa Stone House for students to 'STUDY'. Well knowing that there are absolutely 0 boros and 0 boro villages in Dima Hasao. We never lived with you guys. We dimasas didn't even know about your existence. Now, suddenly all of our history and kingdom belongs to you. Why don't you do this to Garos and Koch? The Koch people hate you too. And stop pointing fingers at some long dead person. Stop trying to tell me that you guys are above suspicion. Numbering around almost 2 million and stealing from a small tribe. Have some shame.

@바수헴 Hari is not only used by Boro people. It is used by many Kacharis people. Hari means blood and flesh relation. Koch-Hari means Koch flesh and blood. Koch-Hari means Koch people. No one knew about the word Kachari until recently. No one called themselves that. Stop acting as if the use of 'Hari' is unique to boros. It's even used in Dimasa, we have clans who're related to one another like how Haflongbar and Johari are related to one another, thus they're known as xengphong-hari. Means coming from one male ancestor. The same goes for Bodo and Bathari; Hasnu and Xengyung, etc. Hari word is not exclusive to Boros. And Dimasas people have 'Hari' with other tribes as well, we always have said we have hari (blood relations) with Zeme Nagas and Triprasa/ old Kuki Tribes. That's why we say 'dzimasa rao de mgamsa odehe dakhinsa rao zang de hari dong', which means we have blood relation with old kuki/ triprasa and zeme nagas. I've heard this from my childhood. But I never heard saying we have hari with koch people, or boro... because you guys didn't live here. So stop using the word Koch-hari. It makes no sense in this context. The only person that had koch blood was the worst dimasa king to ever exist: Iragdao Hasnu. His mother was koch.

@바수헴 your language is similar because you borrowed our vocabulary. Only Tripuri language is similar to ours. Yours is similar because you BORROWED our words. This is why you guys have many words which are uniquely Dimasas.

Everyone would be Muslim if ahoms had not saved assam from Mughals. No warrior as lachit borphukan. Large part of area mostly plain areas ruled by dimasas, jaintias, tripura,Koch kingdom went to Mughals and become part of Bangladesh. Ahoms were the only kingdom who fought for greater cause of northeast and defeated Mughals 17 times. Ahoms had superior war strategy and was most experienced and battle hardened right from the time they were in Yunnan province of China. The ancestors of ahoms defeated the Han Chinese, Tibetan empire, burmese and even fought against the mongol army of Genghis khan. These Tai people formed kingdom of assam(ahom), Shan State of Burma, Tai state of South China( Yunnan), Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia etc. The Tai people even formed the backbone of the mongol army in South China.
