As I get older I find myself more drawn to the content that is the real James, either on his own or with his friends, just talking about movies, games etc. I still love AVGN but the videos with him not playing a character stick with me more nowadays.

Sad universal studios couldn't even capture a bit of the greatness that made the original universal monsters films great and instead made films that wish they were the original films.

I don't care if this isn't new, it's still clever and revolutionary and pretty nice to have these condensced into time because, mostly I don't have time to replay each one. Amazing work, James!

This is a great compilation. I love the Monster Madness series, it's so much fun to revisit these old movies in a series that is now, itself, long running. Like most of these movies, these reviews really hold up.

But for some reason I'm just now starting to discover the movie reviews. Its everything that I love about cinema, the films that you choose. Thank you!

I saw House of 1000 Corpses as more of a Horror movie than the Devils Rejects. It just had that classic horror movie setting of teenagers/young adults getting trapped in a house in the middle of no where.

Honestly, if it wasnt for me finding these videos, I might not have cared for all movies in general that much. But this introduced me to so much stuff i never saw before when I was younger, and I now have a pretty good encyclopedic knowledge of films now.

Oh man, growing up with these in elementary and middle school makes it now a seasonal tradition, and there's no better way I can think of spending my halloween than getting some friends together and watching this

i love these videos.. so many movies i forgot about and would never think to look for again and now i have a never ending stream of great movies i havent seen in decades or never seen at all thanks nerd!

Personal opinion: I know we have the Golden Age, Silver Age and Bronze Age of horror, which was followed up in the 90's and 2000's by the "Modern Age", but I do believe we are currently in a new renaissance of horror movies with studios like Blumhouse and A24 giving new life to a previously stale and, as James put it in this video, "desensitizing" genre. I think movies like The Conjouring, Get Out, A Quiet Place, The VVitch, Split, Hereditary, Us, Midsommar and The Lighthouse are all very high quality horror films that stand toe to toe with some of the classics in this video. There will always be Shitty horror films in every era of history, but I think it's important to acknowledge when good horror films invent new techniques or repurpose old ideas. Thanks for reuploading all these videos!
