History of Americus and Sumter County
Produced in 2001 by the Young Historians of Sumter County High School in Americus, Georgia and used as an orientation for the Georgia Trust's annual meeting hosted in Americus that year, "The History of Americus and Sumter County" provides a brief overview of the community's founding, growth, and development up to the onset of the Great Depression while paying particular attention to the town's rich architectural history.

Danville and Pineville definitely deserve mention; however, this version of the video was edited, as I recall, to fit a time constraint, so they got cut. It was used as an orientation to Americus, so they were left out. Thank you for watching!
