History of American Literature | American Literature | American Literary Periods and Movements
In today's KZread Video, we are looking at the history of American Literature. We are looking at all the important literary periods and literary movements of American Literature.
In American Literature, we first have The Colonial Period, then the Early National Period, then the Romantic Period. After the American Civil War, we have the Realistic and the Naturalist Period. Lastly, we have the Modernist and Contemporary Period in American Literature.
We have talked about important literary movements of American Literature in this video such as Transcendentalism, The Gilded Age, The Roaring Twenties and Jazz Age, The Lost Generation and The Beat Generation.
Apart from talking about the literary periods and literary movements of American Literature, we have looked at the major American writers and see in which literary period they belong. We have talked about important American novelists, American poets and American playwrights in this video. In short, this video gives you a crisp idea of The History of American Literature from 1607-2000 and how American Literature has evolved with time.

This is the Romantic period in American Literature. It is different from Romantic Period in British Literature
