    These brit pundits were sometimes embarassing to listen: @13:31 "Very good defence from England" then the Fijians progress on 15 meters with English players on their legs. @14:25 "It's just mistake after mistake from England" rather to appreciate the intelligent offloads game from Fiji @16:00 "For Fiji, it's the greatest moment in their rugby history" Yeah, really? Just because they've beaten England of Borthwich during a friendly. Fiji beating Wales in 2007 and qualifying for the New format World Cup 1/4 finals was far more important for them. It seems more acceptable and patronising to say "England was bad" rather to say "Fiji plays good", which could be summarized like "they've beaten us because we were bad" rather to applaude Fiji, Samoa, Tonga improving tactics with far less money, time and helps than "Top" Nations.

    You got to laugh at the English commentators arrogance even in defeat. Fiji, a nation that have beaten Australia (in their pomp) twice, beaten France in Paris, among other great wins over the years, but this is simply the GREATEST moment in their rugby history, not one of the greatest...the GREATEST!!!! Maybe it is, that's up for debate, but it's the Fijian people who get to decide that not some posh English prat suffering from a post empire delusional hangover of misplaced English superiority.

  • @jaybeenabaro6604

    @jaybeenabaro6604

    8 ай бұрын

    Absolutely right. As far as the greatest ever Fiji rugby victory is concerned...and there have been a few over a 100 years of Fiji playing test rugby..not really sure where this would rank. Is it better than Fiji thrashing Los Pumas in the '87 world cup?, or downing Wales in '07 in Nantes or will it compare to Fiji putting 50 points on Scotland in Suva in '98 or putting 50 points on Italy in Italy in '99 or beating France in Paris in 2018? Who knows. I would argue that if you ask any Fiji fan what the greatest victory in Fijis rugby history is, many would say when they beat the British and Irish Lions in Suva in 1977. Fiji also have multiple victories against the Maori all blacks(home and away) as well as the Barbarians. There are only 3 national teams that Fiji have never beaten in a test match in its long and proud history...the springboks, the all blacks and Ireland.

    Everyone just take a moment to consider that all these Fijian players have day jobs. They are not paid for their performances in rugby. They often have to pay their own airfares and they don’t get paid much for their day jobs. Considering all that, it should make the world much more respectful of the kind of performance they have given. The people they are playing against are paid to train, paid to play (very well paid I might add) can focus on rugby completely without any financial worries and Fiji still beat them. No wonder countries like NZ do their best to snap the Fijian talent up for themselves so they end up playing on their side before they get a chance play against them. They’re afraid of the Fijian talent. Hang on to your talent Fiji and you will conquer the world

    The Fijian players are in various leagues across the world. Some of them are among the highest paid players on their team. Yes when they play for their country the match fee is non existent. But these aren't plumbers with a dream, they're professional athletes.

    That’s not true, they get paid professionally, just not as much as teams like England get. They get $500 a day for Fiji, the Drua players get paid and the European based players get paid even better. It’s pretty good considering the minimum wage in Fiji is $3 an hour.

    God I love this. I could watch England get humbled all day long. The commentary is so gross too, it's basically "But you're not SUPPOSED to be this good, you're only Fiji. We're ENGLAND, so that means we're better than you" so they refuse to acknowledge the progress Fiji have made as a team, and that they were outclassed. Also, please a pay rise to the cameraman who had Owen Farrell's grumpy, petulant face locked in for that shot. It was art.

    Perhaps it’s time for England to make way in the Six Nations for one of the top Tier 2 teams like Georgia. It’s not fair that England have a guaranteed place despite not being up to par. There should be relegation/promotion.
