For that to happen you need the infrastructure and money in Fiji. Out of all the Pacific nations- Fiji has the population to make it happen. Then you need the infrastructure- which means the qholw country needs to be richer..... That's how sports teams get better. Otherwise the players will all be playing overseas as they do now, and come back for WC year .

When they appointed Borthwick I thought it could only end in tears - and here we are. I remember his stint at England captain a few years back. After A couple of truly dire performances he would stand there spouting blue-sky, Polyanna bs as if he'd been involved in a different game. How can you change something if you refuse to - or perhaps cannot - see the problems. I've never known an England team so lacking in everything - and I mean EVERYTHING. Compare that game to NZ - SA game last night. Different sport.

That was a certain try with May's speed, especially if he gave it to him early. Fiji have definitely improved. Most of the squad has been together for a few seasons now. They not only have good outside backs and loose forward, but have tight forwards like Mawi, Matavesi and Tagi that have been developed in professional clubs in europe. Plus the Drua in Super Rugby means they can develop local players up to professional standards too.

Perhaps it speaks volumes that a usual diehard fan who believes in unconditional support couldn't bring themselves to watch their beloved team go further down the path to being nobodies. England first try is a forward pass. Use the 22 m line as point of reference. 2nd try Smith is in front of the kicker. The ref and tmo tried their best to help England.

Agree on the forward pass, I think the ref used the "back of hand" nonsense to let it go. As for the kicker - not so much. When the ball leaves the foot of the kicker Smith is right in line with him in the frame by frame, judging by the line of the cut grass. Too marginal to call so they let it stand.

i said in another video keiran crowleys contract is up at italy, for some bizzare reason he is being let go after the world cup, best thing they could do is approach him now before the tournament and bin borthwick quick as he hasnt a clue at this level. but of course the rfu wont do that, they will persist with borthwick for another year or so then sack him too late in the cycle, just like eddie jones all over again.

jones had no answer once people sussed out his tactics, he should have gone 2 years ago, borthwick aint the answer either. apparently they approached quite a few coaches, were all turned down so had to go with him, most of the players are well past their best form and have been for a good while, it needs radical change like france did starting at the younger levels.@@kurtpunchesthings2411

Marcus Smith was VERY CLEARLY offside as he ran through to “score” his try. If you look at the head on TV shot, the referee went to blow the whistle for the offside, but changed his mind! Blatant incompetence - or cheating? Wouldn’t have even been close if not for that ODD occurrence! The ref in South Africa vs NZ was “the star of the show” & blew the kiwi’s out of contention, & here is the ref “accidentally” missing a crucial offside, by the home team! Coincidence? I think not! Doesn’t augur well for the refereeing at the World Cup does it! Where was the TMO?

England were actually looking good going into 2019 WC, there was no shock or surprise how they did in that WC, at least not to us in the NH. England now are in a far worse place going in to this WC, only thing in their favour is the softest of the 4 pools, and guaranteed not to meet a top 5 ranked nation if they make the QF, which I still think they will make.

Yes, clear as day, with passed ball crossing 22 line in both cases. But Fiji's try TMO disallowed, England's try TMO ignored.

@@viliamefinau6256 Even the Fiji captain highlighted it during the play, You can see him throwing his hands up in disbelief thinking the ref or touch judge would pick up on it but no 🙈

As a side note, anyone else noticed the clever camera angles, only showing the bottom tiers of the stadium and not showing the top one closed and empty. I think the fans are starting to voice their opinions by voting with their feet.

well the SA-All Blacks game was booked with 80,000 filled seats,the Fiji-England game was filled by only 38,000.Shows who the English and other people would rather watch.

Even in a big city like London, there are not enough people prepared to pay the high ticket prices when there are so many international matches. It is about time England started playing home matches away from London, even if the revenue is reduced because they either have to play at a smaller club rugby ground or at a football stadium.

As a wallaby supporter I love the poms getting a belting at home 😂

Fiji, samoa, tonga will take over rugby in the next 5yrs!! We are built for it.
