Historic Deerfield MA
A short visit to Historic Deerfield, an authentic 18th-century New England village in the Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts.
I wish I had had more time to wander into more buildings and could have take more video of this charming small town. Also wish they would allow indoor photography, but they don't. Anyway, this was one more day on my drive to weaving school, a few weeks ago.

My cousin lived there; it's one of the first houses on the street (I forget the name) She was one of the kidnapped brought to Canada.
Nice video I don't live to far from historic Deerfield myself it's too bad they don't let ya film or photograph the inside of the houses as well but but the outside footage you did get of the village is great ! Thanks for sharing.

It's weird watching videos about your town
Andy, what a charming historic town! I noticed that many of the houses were without shutters, yet they were still quaint and very attractive. I can't imagine why they didn't allow indoor photography. Maybe it conflicts with their postcard business. The rule seems outdated to my mind. Thanks for the enjoyable tour!

One reason is called "security."

Another reason is preservation. If there are fragile objects inside that will be damaged by light (paintings, documents, textiles) photographs day after day after day will cause deterioration. It is a basic preservation principle. Same reason you're not allowed to bring coffee or food into a rare book room!
