Historic Centre of Sighisoara - UNESCO World Heritage Site

The Historic Centre of Sighisoara is a beautiful and fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Site in Romania. It's a fortified town on a hill, built in the 12th century by Saxon migrants from Germany. Famous as the birthplace of Vlad III (the Impaler, inspiration for Dracula), there's still an incredible medieval city to be found here, complete with towers, gates, laneways and churches. Let's go exploring!

One of my most favorite places in Romania. Going to their yearly Medieval Festival held in summer is pretty neat too. Thanks for sharing this!

Butchers are professionals I guess and a tower may be their idea of announcing that. Those steps are a good daily exercise I guess :-)
