Don't forget that it's TCL CSOT that supplies the screens for Sony and Samsung. The difference lies in the image processing, that's all. The assembly standards are the same for all brands.

Thanks to this channel I decided to research the Hisense tv’s back in 2022 and I decided to purchase the Hisense U7H 55 inch for my main bedroom and that TV is the best purchase I made last year, the brightness and the colors are amazing! I love technology and I also have a LG CX OLED in the living room but with Hisense and TCL out there offering these prices we don’t need to spend that much on a TV, Hisense and TCL are great tv’s and they are affordable compared to Samsung, LG and Sony. I highly recommend the Hisense U7K for a bedroom and the Hisense U8K for the living room.

And the fact that consumers obviously understand the quality differences by owning their Sony TVs and average of 6.7 yrs and LG and Samsung are closer to 3.1 and TCL/Hisense are at 2.7 yrs. Personally: I don't consider LG because of the unintuitive mess that the WebOS is and their Wii-like remote control. More importantly, Sony and Samsung TVs generally don't offer the same performance in blooming and black levels of a Hisense at the "SAME" price point. Also, it doesn't seem to be the case that Samsung or Sony upscale SD content significantly better than Hisense or TCL unless someone on KZread can actually show that in a comparison video.

Since there are no perfect TVs, the model that you decide to buy is the TV that offers you the most features you really want and has the fewest "compromises" that would bother you. I don't deny that both Hisense and TCL make excellent LCD TVs that offer great bang-for-the-buck value in their price range. I will say, though, that my personal preference is for OLED and QD-OLED TVs since I'm drawn to the high-quality image they display, and in my particular situation I don't actually need the extra brightness that LCD panels provide. (I'm also willing to pay extra for a reliable, long-lasting TV.) I realize that other folks have different criteria and I can understand how a Hisense or TCL TV would be the perfect choice for them to buy.

Yes Sony X95L is the best MiniLed TV even if it does not reach as much brightness as the others. Quite a few users have spoken about how great the X95L is, and one user also mentioned that he also has an OLED LG G2 and a Sony A90J at home, and now that he has purchased the X95L, he says that it is certainly the best TV of all three.Of all the TVs on the market, from OLED to LED, I would definitely prefer the Sony X95L, but I can't afford it or I would have to take out a loan to buy it.

Then there is a friend of mine who bought a a 43" 4k Hisense a year previously to my purchase and that's still going strong 5 years on. Imo that would suggest that the name doesn't seem to matter, it really is just down to luck. I returned my 85QM8 a couple of weeks ago and just ordered the 85U8K. I did love the picture quality most of the time, but Dolby Vision was not great during the day and the sometimes the procesor would struggle a bit. Did I make a mistake by doing so? I do feel like swapping 2300 dimming zones from the 85QM8 for 1300 85U8K sounds very significant. But I was hoping that the slightly better processor would make up for it. I mostly stream sports, movies and tv shows, but considering purchasing a PS5 for the holidays. What do you think? Im specting the 85U8K in 1 week. Im currently using the X90L, and while its amazing in SDR, it doesn't feel as punchy as the QM8 did. I was hoping the 85U8K would be a mix of both the X90L due to the slight up on the processor over the QM8, and more punch than the X90L 😂.

Upscaling isn't something you can turn on and off (Sony reality creation is somewhat different, upscaling + adding AI elements). If you're on a 4K TV and you watch anything less than 4k resolution (3840 x 2160) it HAS to upscale else it'll either be teeny tiny on the screen or a blurry mess if blown up

I have TCL in living room and Hisense in bed room. I have no issue other than Hisense having VIDA OS. I use google Chrome cast to fix that. So yeah for the money. This is so far best 2 brands i would recommend

I’ve had the 85 QM8 for a few days now and so far, after some initial issues, the tv has settled nicely. The PQ is as good as any OLED I’ve owned and I think the upscaling and clarity is much better than the S95c. Only real issues I’m having is Dolby Vision looks “terrible” like it’s in drab filmmaker mode or something and the tv has extremely limited Picture Controls. All at an amazing price.

@MichelleAlexandria-EM thank you very much for this information. I watch a lot of Dolby Vision content and it looks fantastic on my older Sony X950G. I was considering the QM8 but you've helped me eliminate it from consideration. May have to upgrade to the Sony X93L or X95L. Cheers!

I agree, I have this same tv and I can confirm Dolby vision is terrible. I managed to turn that feature off and only use HDR10 on my Amazon fire cube, Xbox and PlayStation when it comes to hdr gaming. I don’t use Dolby vision at all

Hisense gives a two year warranty with their TVs vs. one year for other manufacturers. That tips me toward the U8K over the QM8.

I disagree. The big 3 (Sony, lg, Samsung) have higher quality control. LG also has 5 year parts & labour warranty. Samsung is my least favourite in terms of quality control.

Watch out for Google OS it is not up to speed and software updates basically do not occur after 6 months. My LG tv has had 10+ software updates in 3 years. I ha dto unplug my firestick from the HDMI port on the TCL 65s546 as it created a conflict as well yamaha receiver top audio brand would not function properly either. I have owned 6 LG Tv's that have all worked with my firesticks and Yamaha receiver or soundbars. Beware make sure you try this out in first week of owner ship or bring it back.

The more knowledge you kno about tvs the better. I do a research about a specific tv before buying. I recommend tvs that have 120hz and above that come with VRR those are the best when performing any mode you're on.
