HIS FIRST RC TURBINE JET ! He's like a kid with a new toy
Trev flies his Sebart Avanti Mini. An awesome first aerobatic turbine jet for an experienced pilot.

What a world we live which we can have miniature turbine jet engines in miniature flying models 👍😜
The anticipation when that glow plug starts ticking - never gets dull

Was cool to see this in the back of the van Trevor even better to see it in the air definitely somthing to aspire to ! cheers Nick
Great video guys, good and informative as usual. I have a number of these Sebart mini jet models (Hawk, MB339 and Avanti), both edf and X45 turbine, all fabulous flying jets, but when landing into a strong breeze like Trevor was half flaps is all you need, they are so light (and turbine is lighter at landing time than the EDF's on 8s) they slow down a lot faster than the heavier larger turbines and can catch you out like Trevor's did. I've even landed them no flaps into a really strong headwind. Tip, for Trevor buy some spare 5mm retract pins from Turbines RC. I'd be mightily surprised if they didn't get bend backwards a bit on that landing.
Turbines are getting cheaper over time. Black Horse just brought at the Mig 29 for $1649.00. The turbine cost more then planes. Nice setup Trevor and really nice flight. Remember that its not much different then flying a EDF just remember that turbines don't react as fast as electric. You need a wider glide slop when landing. Great video Dom
Really nice love the plane / colors and pilot, thanks for sharing...

Thanks for watching!
my heart almost fell on the first landin approach. gr8 stuff glad it came home safely

All part of the learning process. Even on the final landing he should have used more power as the descent was too steep. Trailing links absorbed the impact though so no harm done.
Lookin good
Congrats 🎉🎉 I have the same jet with the same turbine only I added smoke to it which really looks great in the air And I changed the main struts to a more beefy brand for grass Enjoy Ty for the videos John
Love mine. Congratulations
Nice job Trevor!!!
Welcome to the addiction!
I can appreciate turbine, and i like the sound, i really like this model esp as a starter jet and the blue and gold 🍻.. I just dont like the fannying around, the costs for 1 plane in the air with potential loss if crashed, the minimum size they come in is still very large and the noise would get the public i fly around complaining. Had i had my own field on the back of my house for sure id get one.. but for ease of use and being able to fly wherever i want, ill stick to my edfs.... for now... 👌🏽
That is a great rc jet

The Avanti Mini is a great first turbine jet for an experienced RC pilot. I've got the foamie Freewing version with a turbine engine in it. Fantastic jet as well.
😎👍
Beautiful plane and great piloting, but he came in way too high on the final and then had to drop too much while idle and barely compensated any of the vertical speed before touch down ... glad nothing got damaged. I think he factored in way more headwind, then it would have been a great landing.

Guess we all make mistakes no matter what experience level 🤷🏽♂️
Not enough down elevator trim with full flap🤔

Nope. Not enough power. Mixing elevator with flap is optional. I've never had to do that. Deploy flap at the right speed and its not needed.
Can you come along to Elvington rc airshow (10/11 August)

Too far for Trevor. He might fly this at the Popham Model Show.

@EssentialRC Popham is to far for me. Hope he has a good time!
I am surprised how close to this musical noise, foam aircraft with ducted fans can sound. They must get a good 55 percent of this authentic sound; which in itself is indistinguishable from full size jet aircraft. Foam aircraft are affordable, especially if one uses second hand electrical systems from old models, together with other spare parts from the foam aircraft manufacturers. The foam aircraft can be flown from one's hand from rough fields. They are quieter and safer. I guess if you need to ask how much a genuine jet model costs to own and run; it is out of your price range!

"They are quieter and safer." In my experience turbine jets are only more noisy on the ground when starting up. In the air they are generally no more noisy. As for EDF being safer. Why? EDF jets carry a solid lipo battery pack. More weight compared to turbine jets which are burning through the fuel during the flight and getting lighter. If EDF jets crash that impact can rupture the lipo cells and cause fire that does not need oxygen to burn. I have seen several turbine jets crash and it is very rare for fire. EDF and turbine are just as safe as each other if operated and flown sensibly.
