Thanks, man.
My favorite pencil sharpener is a disc sander. It's my goto. But in a pinch I'm not above whittling points on pencils with pocket knives.
Not me seeing the automatic pencil sharpener first time since the 90s, and remembering we had one at my house when I was a kid. After I watch this I immediately called my mom and asked her, "Where is it? I want it!!" 😂

Yeah, I'm on the lookout for another one now to keep as a spare.
Oh boy oh boy I’ll refrain
Hello, Mr. Ballinator; I have a Kum pencil sharpener, bought 05/2021, it works pretty good compared to those cheap plastic ones. I bought it mainly because its magnesium so if needed, I could use it to start a fire. I could also use it to make some tinder for the fire, if needed. BTW, I've been trying to find old 'timey' tools. I just started looking for an old adz & I want a one-man crosscut saw. I have 2 draw knives, 9 planes, 6 hand saws (which are 'why' I need some good files), 2 hatchets & 2 hewing hatchets, 1 axe, & numerous hand tools & measuring & marking tools, & 2 oil/kerosene lamps. TBH, I think the electricity will 'fail' & being able use non-electric tools will be very useful. Being 69 I mostly know how to use them. I had a pretty good upbringing, even having briefly used a scythe when I was a youngster. So I appreciate your channel. Have a GREAT day, Neighbor! PS Epstein still didn't kill himself.

Yeah, the magnesium could be used as a fire starter. It was an interesting choice of a metal for them to use for a pencil sharpener. I've been picking up the 'old timey' tools from garage sales and flea markets too. Especially been impressed with the push drills. I've found myself using them instead of a power drill sometimes.
You should check out a Mobius + Ruppert (M+R) 'grenade' sharpener - made in Germany, solid brass body, cool knurled 1930s design, replaceable blades, you'll never look back! On the other hand, you can use shavings off your magnesium sharpener to start a fire, so a good choice for survivalists 😉

@@ballinator Heck, it's only a pencil sharpener! BTW, I've also noticed the tendency for modern pencils to be made out of some plastic stuff that just doesn't work.
It's "Kum" like zoom, not "Kum" like Kumquat, you confused twquat... ;-)

But... if I pronounce it properly, then I can't make the jokes.
