oh do i ever love blade sharpening pencils, personally i hate those sharp tips of a pencil and if i get one i break it off by hitting it on a table or something, it's all about the blade sharpened pencils lasting longer and the lack of a quickly dulling sharp tip
Ha! I just thought the different sizes was for different sized pencils. Learn something new everyday Thanks!

This is a great system because every other pencil sharpener is too rough for the graphite and the point always snaps from the force of removing the wood
Oh I always thought the ones that left the tip untouched were just broken LMAO

I get that same exact point with the other sharpener. In fact, I like those cheaper carpenters more than any other I’ve purchased separately.
Bruh i thought the bigger hole is just for the bigger pencils... You just explained the hole sharpener for me
Idk, I use only metallic ones, because any others always trying to break graphite's end, and blades in this staff always too dull.

I’ve gone through SO many sharpeners to find the one that works for me. But I’m always on the look out for even better.
Me with that exact crappy sharpner: 👁️👄👁️
The moment this video started I got scared because I use a sharpener similar to the one first shown but red and was like "oh no"
I use the gray once for charcoal only cus it dosent break the tip in the process🙃
I use Apsara sharpner to shave wood and camline sharpner to take away excess of graphite. It works really well 🙂
I think KUM brand invented those! Also they have a patent on using a slightly curved blade that is screwed into place, and that tension makes it apply pressure evenly on the pencil, so it sharpens smoother. I don’t know if it actually makes a difference but they invented the two point system and are cheaper, imo it’s only logical to buy theirs
My brother had that kind of sharpener and i always wonder whats the function of two holes hahah
I love the little ones, all the ones I’ve ever had have worked wonders but I have had the black wing sharpener and it is wonderful
i use only knife for sharpening my pencils. Even a good sharpener waste pencil pretty bad
I thought I'm the only one that use two holes sharpener like that😭my friends think I'm weird using it like that👁️👄👁️
I was today years old when I found this out
Thanks
There's two versions of the solo silver sharpener. The cheap one costs about a $1.25 and usually come with pencil sets. Then there's the more expensive version which runs around $5 dollars and it's one of the best sharpeners out there. The two just look alike. Also....Proko, check out the Tombow Mono pencils. Simply the best pencils out there.
The one with 2 is breaking inside my pencil

Meanwhile the little metal one was *i thought* the best one since they got replaced here with cheaper plastic versions that break immediately when I use them 🥲 and have been sharpening the graphite with a cutter or scissor ends 🥸 I guess this could be a great update
That cheap grey sharpener, which blade was as sharp as a butterknife I was so disappointed as a child that my pencils were always dull, broken and ugly. It was a pain in the a to use it.
If only blackwing supplies weren't freaking expensive 💀
It's probably expensive too. In my country a good long point sharpener costs 6 cents

How to buy that sharpener proko sir?
you can sharpen the blades yourself. i got the metal ones with 2 holes and then a knife + sandpaper for needle like points depending on what i want to do. there are big lead holders too, i love them, but you should sharpen with a good knife only. i think a small sharpening stone is a good investment if you work with pencils a lot.

Like everyone else, I thought the big hole was for big pencils. I will use this new knowledge wisely!
Meanwhile me using a bunny shaped pencil sharpener I got in preschool
I like yr technique.
I use those helical, or however they are called. They produce really sharp and long graphite, and it literally never break anything
Where can I buy those?
I go for exacto knives or razors almost always because of how inconsistent and trash most sharpeners are.
I have an mobius rupert pollux, and its by far the best sharpener I've used! A perfect concave tip every single time!
Where could I find these Sharpeners?
People just don't know how to use the small silver/metal sharpeners. It just takes the right technique. Keep the pencil comfortably flush up against the surface opposite the blade through the whole twisting action. Pay attention to not over sharpen. It works perfect. Often when you sharpen a pencil and the tip keeps falling off it is because the pencil was dropped and the core has shattered. That pencil is defective.
How much tho? Because my classmate once got a sharpener for £18 and I draw the line at 5 normally ha. Could have understood more with them if it did something like that but it was just a normal sharpener with a storage arrangement :/
please give me the link of this sharpener

The little metal sharpener gets the same result in one step. It's biggest drawback is its simply messier. But I balance that against constantly having to empty the plastic container of wood shavings. And if I might want a longer tip, I use an x-acto.

We don't use that little sharpener or it's blade separately. If you need to sharpen the blade inside yours, you'll probably need to use a screwdriver to get it out. If you're looking to have a blade like we use, we buy those separately. They can be found as box cutter refills.

YES my dad talked me into getting one and it's the best investment of my life
Blackwing sharpeners are fantastic!!! Amazingly good. I additionally have the Mobius & Rupert brass sharpeners, which are also very well made and efficient. I have an enormous collection as both an artist, writer, and researcher. I use sharpeners a lot, despite my love of mechanical pencils. I have sharpeners dating back to the late 1800s. The Japanese Holbien T'Gaal adjustable sharpeners are great, or the Nitram sharpening blocks, and good old fashioned kn*ves. I have used plain sanding paper, emery boards, kn*ves and X-acto bl@des. 😊😊😊 In addition to my own collection when I began when I was almost five (necessitated by my father's need to actually keep a sharpeners as he made accusations stating that I alledgedly "stole" his sharpeners to divide amongst grandfather and myself) I also have inherited quite the collection, one of which I added on to for decades in addition to my father and myself, and unfortunately, it became mine when my grandfather passed away in 2013.
I noticed that my mechanical pencils have a hole on the top for sharpening the lead!
i was trying to find the best sharpener cause i’m going to journal
OOOOOOH I’ve always wonder why there is two holes i though it was for smaller and bigger pencils I’m dumb
Everytime i sharpen my 10B pencil it breaks , what should i do ?
@ProkoTV
Жыл бұрын
There are a few things that can cause that! First, make sure your pencils are from a brand that you can trust to have good cores. Next, make sure you or the store you're buying from isn't bashing the pencils around in carrying or shipping (as much as you can). And finally, it might just be your sharpener or sharpening method. Make sure that the sharpening is happening smoothly and not twisting or breaking the core. If it's happening that often with the same sharpener, try another. Those are the typical points where issues come up. Good luck with it!
