    Thank you so much, I workout at home and my bar sits way to low for me to get into a proper hip thrust position so using my resistance bands will be a-lot simpler

    You only squeeze glutes at top? How long should we squeeze them for? Do we engage our core the whole tip and/or do a pelvic tilt?

    @@jamesgeorge65 good question! There are a number of options. I personally like lying leg curls and RDLs (any variation).

    Yes, make sure you keep your ribs down and extend just through your hips. Keep your chin down, as well, and make sure you push through your whole foot.

    Maybe the primary reason is that to get the bar (or hips) up, you're driving down into the floor with your legs, which is going to activate the quads a lot, like a squat. You want to focus on just thrusting your hips upwards, and that will target your hamstrings and glutes. You can have your lower-leg either vertical with the floor or out a bit farther. Both work, but some people can struggle with feeling it in their quads too much if their lower-legs are vertical, so you can move the feet out bit farther, but that can also take activation away from the glutes and can instead put the emphasis more on the hamstrings. Just gotta figure out what works best for you. A great youtube video is one from Jeff Nippard titled: How To Build Great Glutes with Perfect Hip Thrust Technique (Fix Mistakes!)

    From my personal female perspective, men with somewhat of a butt are attractive. And hip thrusts are great for building nice and strong glutes.

    It's supposed to be a safer and more recommended substitute for deadlift from what I've read. Plus who thrusts in the relationship, man or woman? If it's woman you're doing that wrong lol

    No shortage of women who like a nice butt on a man. Also doing hip thrusts can really help with your deadlift. Or you could alternatively do cable pull-throughs, if that makes you feel less insecure. Edit: Actually cable pull-throughs will likely have better cross-over for helping your deadlift if you're using high weight, but yea. As far as glute activation in isolation, it's right at the top of the pack, above all the deadlift variations.
