Does the interior walk in the center of the house bare a load? I know the ceiling joists cross in the middle but is that wall actually considered load baring?

I know it's not the same weight most of the time as the walls with the bottom of rafters, but it is load bearing.

So are the interior walls bearing load or just creating support for the ceiling joists? I'd like to figure a way to remove the center interior wall

Interior walls can be load bearing, but it isn't always going to be easy to figure out whether or not you can remove a wall that isn't load bearing.

Hi Greg.. awesome video. what would it take to vault one of the rooms in the corner of the building ? can I remove the ceiling joists and just keep the rafter ties every 4 feet ? I can wrap some wood and use those rafter ties as faux beams..

I cannot provide you with engineering information for your particular project, but can tell you that most building codes and engineers suggest using a maximum spacing of 48 inches on center for rafter ties and of course these could be wrapped and finished in a variety of different methods like those you suggested.

Hey Greg.. I was wondering if you had an email so I can send you pictures as I'm looking to do a project in my home. 3 additions to be exact.. and honestly I cannot find anyone on here with your knowledge of creating a visual such as the ones you have created..if you can design one and show me how it's supposed to be done I would gladly appreciate it

Yes, it seems to be low on some phones and tablets, but think I have solved the problem on my newer videos.
