The commentary is wonderful--very insightful. I just wish you had an identical video except for the fact that you would carry out each pose with its full amount of breaths, as well as both sides.

I had that at that age, turn out it was the dairy giving me hip pain. If you don't want to ditch it try cutting the consumption in half and see what happens. Dairy has been found to be the main case of hip fractures in the elderly. (i'm only 28, but at 17 i was exactly the same pop pop pop).

I’m so grateful that I have found you! I’m a senior with severe arthritis and have suffered chronic pain for over two decades and have back issues since my early 20s. I have drug sensitivities and allergies so there’s not much I can take for pain. I also have a social anxiety disability difficult for me to go out of my home and with this pandemic lifestyle, everything worsened. Because of allergies and bad reactions to medications I’m realizing I must take care of my body by eating proper and by exercise. I have tried yoga a few years back when I was able to go out and was finding relief and was gaining strength. Things have gotten worse since Covid and not being able to go out. I’m so thankful I found this on KZread and have started working out with you Lisa. Thanks for making this available for me and others like me. I appreciate how you explain each pose and advice while teaching. Great thanks again! Namaste and God bless

Been doing this for about 3 weeks now , at least 3-4x per week, still can’t do a full lotus but my posture is a lot better! I also don’t feel as tense in my core, hamstrings, & back when running and doing other workouts! Thank you! Hopefully I can’t do full lotus soon, I really began doing this so I could meditate in full the lotus pose.

    A. Djalo I can tell you that I did it for about 5-6 months at least 3-4/week and my body felt like it never had before. I was walking comfortably. I wouldn’t get as sore after my workouts and basketball sessions. No back pains. Just overall comfort ability in your own skin. I stopped just because my routine changed but will start again and 100% recommend it!!! Also I never reached the full lotus position. That takes a lot of dedication and my hips have been tight since I was a teen lol

    A. Djalo also definitely helped with meditation if you’re into that. That’s really why I got into it. I could fall into my safe space a lot quicker Bc I wasn’t too worried about my body’s structure if that makes sense. It just happened more naturally

But now that I've watched this and done it it's gone to 5/10. Thank you so much. Are you want that your muscle attaches to the vertebrae of the lower spine, moves through the pelvis and connects to a tendon at the top of the femur. [Check Details Here==> tinyurl.com/hipflexors86 ]. It also attaches to the diaphragm, so it’s connected to your breathing, and upon it sits all the major organs.?

Thanks for this! I have a very tight low back and hips and some mornings I can't even walk properly when I get out of bed. Doing this twice a week has really helped me. A lot of yoga videos don't take other ability levels into account. This did, and if was simple, short, and effective. I have a rapidly growing 7 month old so I really need to be able to get up and go in the mornings.

I took the time to put it on pause so I could do both sides of my body. I am so glad I did. After doing those I am AMAZED at how loose my hips are? I was so miserable when I woke up this morning. I had worked yesterday cutting down all the dead branches off of my trees in my yard. So when I woke up today I could barely move. I have been doing stretching exercises all week but even still I was sore anyway but after doing that last exercise of hers I FEEL GREAT! I can't believe how much that one opened up my hips for me and my lower back? I have scoliosis in my spine and it was hurting SO BAD but now it feels SO MUCH BETTER. I feel like I could cry I am so happy. lol

Hey Lisa: Excellent cues, very thorough explanations as to why and where the poses affect the body. Really appreciate identifying modifications which is key for people who are not as flexible. Feedback, if I may - is to carry through with the 5 breaths because it seemed rushed. I know there is so much to cover, but when we’re following your video, we need to do each pose to it’s fullest. Keep up the GREAT work! Namaste.

Hi! I'm a 51 y/o female disabled Army veteran. I had surgery on my lumbar spine last summer, partly to remove a bone spur that had been threatening my spinal cord. And a second emergency surgery to fix where injured discs had just sort of given up. in at least one spot, they tell me, the disc was just gone and I had bone on bone. Two more lumbar joins weren't much better. My lumbar vertebrae are now supposed to be fused. But I CAN bend and turn/twist my thoracic spine (your whole ribcage through the shoulder thing). I'm grateful to the VA, I really am. However, every question I have asked up there about recovering and building strength in my abdominal core and correcting some issues I know I have in the hip flexors/ Sacro-iliac/sciatica/piriformis, etc. are met with blank stares and half-answers. THANK YOU for making this and sharing it to the internet. I have a feeling that this is going to be a great place to begin rebuilding my body. THANKS!!! Trish

I've been frustrated that in 10 years of dance lessons and doing yoga a few times a week for the past few years I can rarely get into full lotus position, and it's never comfortable. It seems so easy for other people! I stumbled on this video and these stretches have helped a lot. After doing it 3 or 4 times I can get into full lotus on both sides. I think the difference is that she really gets into the proper positioning and breathing for each stretch. I realized I've been doing some of them all wrong. Agree with all the comments RE: showing both sides, but if you pause after each "1 sided" stretch it works for me.

I followed this video by chance intended to learn something about yoga and i felt well and relaxed to open my hip. After some years of stoping this exercise, i feel back pain and search again this video as i remember how well i felt before. I am sure i going to do it again as a routine.

Super skeptic here. I had always dismissed yoga as a non-workout workout for soccer moms. I repent! My lower back pain is something that slows me down significantly and became a quality of life issue for me. I just wasn’t able to do the things I loved anymore. In a fit of desperation I went looking for a video to learn to properly stretch and came across this one. I’ve done it for 4 days straight, sometimes twice a day. I’m pretty amazed right now. The throbbing pain has subsided by appr 40% in just four days. I was wrong...yoga is awesome. Thank you for this vid.

Thank you Lisa for a great insight into helping to bring back mobility into the hips as my hip extensor is tight. My left side is the problem side, so do I predominately use my left leg for the poses, as you are using your right leg in all the movements? Thank you

I have been so embarrassed that I can't do the straddle when stretching. Adding the towel was a game changer! Thank you so much! It's hard to find stretching videos for people that aren't flexible.

I loved your exercises, Lisa. I wasn't able to fully do a couple of them like the straddle. Man is that one a killer but I have to say that the spinal twist and king pigeon were my favorites. Those did the most for me. I have been doing all kinds of exercises for a week with a great therapist but none of them did what the spinal twist has done for me in just a matter of a few minutes. Even though I really loved king pigeon that spinal twist unlocked my hips for me. Now I feel fantastic. I see some people mocking others on here for "being dramatic" but evidently that person hasn't had to deal with real pain before. Most likely a kid or they would know true pain. Anyway thanks a lot again for these exercises, Lisa. I have subscribed to your channel and I'll be doing these every day with you from now on. I also see a lot of people on here saying you should take the time to do "both sides". I guess they never heard of hitting "the pause button" before??? PFFT 😂😂😂😂😂

That was so nice. My right side is tighter than my left. I used to be so flexible could put legs behind head. Then I seized up. Lots of lower back pain. Fibroids don't help either. I hope doing these often will help me reduce pain in my body. Thank you
