We used to get cassette tapes, taped live, of the original block parties, up in the Bronx, back in the late 70s, early 80s . . . Before anything had been put onto wax! My friends sister, (Pamela Grant!) had connection out there. We could work out most of what was going on, Emceeing, Rapping, DJing etc, but we couldn't for the life of us, work the scratching out . . . until we saw DST, & The Supreme Team on video! Pure Manchester style.

I can't think of anything to comment so I'm just going to post a Blueberry Strawberry Buttermilk Pancake recipe. 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 1/4 teaspoons white sugar 1 egg 1 cup milk 1 cup buttermilk 1/2 tablespoon butter, melted 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries, thawed 1/2 cup of fresh or frozen strawberries thawed 1. In a large bowl, sift together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and sugar. In a small bowl, beat together egg and milk and buttermilk. Stir milk and egg into flour mixture. Mix in the butter and fold in the blueberries and strawberries Set aside for 1 hour.A 2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle. or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve. EnJoy

As of today, they play Urban hip hops and rap music on oldies but goodies radio station throughout United States. The oldies but goodies radio stations does plays music of the 1980s, 1990s, and even 2000s. Casey Kasem did the American Top 40 Countdown from July 11, 1970 through August 6, 1988, then Shadoe Stevens did the American Top 40 from August 13, 1988 through February 11, 1995, and then Casey Kasem came back from 6 and the half hiatus and did the American Top 40 Countdown from February 18, 1995 through July 4, 2009 before he was retired due to his health problem.

In the 80's, real Deejays mixed with vinyls (technics 1200 turnables), they had to mix with the ears. No serato, no traktor....no bullshit, Only true players !
