The world any human has remembered is always gone seconds after experiencing. In hindsight alone we can appreciate and miss what we interpreted as trials and tribulations. Your brain remembers the best and worst of each thing, often not the whole entire reality.
In a couple of years to come when this is all over. I will tell my children; This is the classic hip hop, I would be listening to during isolation.

To be honest, i've always been a heavy metal kinda guy when it came to music, rap/hip hop has never really been my thing. But I gotta say, I turned this on while taking a walk and it completely changed my whole perspective on the genre, I discovered an entire separate world of great music that I was completely overlooking for so long. The industry where people get fame was never about actual talent unless one they could exploit. It’s underground because it’s real raw and inspires. They want Satan in everything and hip hop isn’t about that.
I never leave a comment. But just want to say thank you to the curator and to all the artists in this playlist. It's the perfect rotation for crushing some work.

is this branch of hip hop specifically called 90's hip hop? i love the old school sound like these, where you feel some drums, new york jazz bits from a piano, sax, some DJ mixing or that marimba sounding instrument. makes you feel like you're in the city as opposed to the robotic beats produced nowadays and lacks these instruments in the background. plus these raps tell stories!

The beat style itself is called Boom Bap, because of how the kicks and the snares sound. It´s a constant boom, bap. boom, bap. boom, bap... Some of the greatest artists of that time are Rakim, Gang Starr, Big L, A Tribe Called Quest, Naughty By Nature, Mobb Deep, The Notorious BIG, Souls of Mischief and so many more. If you want to, you can check out my Boom Bap and Jazzhop playlist on Spotify. It´s nowhere near as comprehensive as it really should be, but it´s definitely a nice start for somebody who´s just been getting into Boom Bap.: open.spotify.com/playlist/40buE7obGQeRJiK74xUSyC?si=kM-r3HGbT-WbRUPNY5BSUw

That’s what rap use to be the art 🖼 of story telling 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Bring back memories from the early 90's ! cruising in my Jeep (now its considered a SUV) for hotties, smoking, drinking and occasional fights , lol . back when you wanted to interact with someone , you went OUTSIDE. !! No cell phones but ALWAYS got in contact with who ever you wanted !! I miss those days when EVERYONE hung out on the corners, now my old hood you dont see ANYBODY chillin outside.
Thanks for putting this collection together. You’ve opened my eye to many new artists.
The technique and flow within these old classic MC's... Boy shut up... Slaps!!!!
I woke up. I made a coffe. I found this list and I am still one hour groovin in the morning. Thank you for the nice list!

I understood one thing. To do something worthwhile in hip-hop yourself, you have to start listening to these classics. Thanks for this incredible mix. Salute you from Belarus ⚪🔴⚪
Conscious, cool, and cadences. I miss this era of East Coast Hip Hop.

Loved the 90s.. In 1994 I was 16 yrs old. What an amazing time to be a teenager. This brings me back to those Thursday nights I stood up late to listen to 89.tech 9

I'm so embarrassed to be a 16 yrs old in 2021. I wish I were a teenager in the 90's in one of the big cities in the US. The music, the whole feeling is just incredible!

#4 beat is CRAZY!! Peace and blessings to everyone
Damn!! I've never wrote so many pages of research in my entire life, because of this underground jazzy hip hop playlist my vocabulary just increase more and more words. Thank you man. I haven't forgotten to subscribe to your channel. love from South Africa.
Thank you for this. Lived in a run down second floor flat on elm in deep ellum Dallas. Window was always open and I do much miss all the urban white noise. Something about it causes a special kind of energy conducive for writing and creating. This gives me that same feeling. Moving back into the hood not far from their to open another chapter of music twenty five years later and I pray to God, much wiser. Thanks again.
Got to praise the absolutely insane quality of these tracks too
When they asked for some underground ish, this man straight built a nuclear powered excavator and simply said..."bet" This is so, so lovely. Thank you.

Man, this is insanely amazing, my head is exploding. So glad the algorithm has been recommending me Hip Hop lately, I'm totally new to the genre and what a way to start with compilations like this one.
i remember some of these tunes, almost 45 now...still best era of music....90's.
I love this. Real hip hop from this era is always refreshing. This is the type of music that inspires me to keep making my own. I'm a rapper, semi-producer/semi-DJ and I make music that reflects this same era of hip hop. Thanx for posting this compilation🎧🎶💣🔥
Mixes like these help keep the culture alive🔥
2,6,11,12 - fantastic beats and raps. Great playlist
This just hits different bro thank you so much for this, I can never make a good mix for just walking and living my life this just helps me exist dawg.
nothing better for this quarantine 🔥
19:15 is he referencing Terrax from the comics. if so that's a deep - and surprisingly nerdy - cut. I'm a fan
Nick if you only knew how much i really wanted you to succeed in this life. You know you were my sons best friend and i know that the two of you are together watching over all of us. You were talented beyond belief and stubborn like the irish man you were. I love you Nick fly high with Mouser making music and enjoying the after life see you soon. ❤❤❤❤❤
