HIP HOP FAN'S FIRST TIME HEARING 'Disturbed - Down With The Sickness' | GENUINE REACTION

Ойын-сауық

Here's a video of me hearing my first ever Disturbed song. I know absolutely nothing about this band and I cannot wait to dive deeper into their music. Do you guys think this song was a good one for someone hearing it for the first time? I was going to listen to Sound Of Silence but a lot of people said to save it for later.
Here is my reaction to hearing Disturbed - Down WIth The Sickness for the first time. I hope you enjoy it!

@@roadkill7314exactly! The edited version of this song just does it zero justice and takes away from the power points. Not just the crazy vocal part, but the reminder of the beats in each verse that are also cut short.

This band had me at, "ooh waa aah aah aah". Great reaction, my guy. I love that you did this first. You're going to love this band, and here's the journey I would recommend - I would listen to a few more of Disturbed's early fan favorites before getting to Sound of Silence. All bangers, you'll be good. Check out Stupify, Stricken, and Inside the Fire. Then I would do Another Way to Die, Vengeful One, and Indestructible. Then Sound of Silence, A Reason to Fight (Official Live), Hold Onto Memories. That would cover early, middle, and recent. That's not all of their best, but probably the best sampling of their career (although it leaves off their most recent album which is pretty damn good)

Every single time I crack up at his opening “ooh ah ah ah ah” and can’t help it 😂 💀 You would probably like Stabbing Westward, one of my favorite bands, they were doing alternative metal/industrial in the 90’s with an extremely mainstream slant, pretty much anything off of “Darkest Days” would get you; Save Yourself, Drugstore, The Thing I Hate etc. Save Yourself has a video.

Bud, this band is on my top 10 favorite bands behind Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Bush, Linkin Park, Godsmack, Staind, and Seether. A couple of things, my friend: 1) Badass piercing, brother! I like what you said about those who don't like your piercings but don't have a problem with the lead singer of Disturbed...you do you 😁 I say if someone or something doesn't improve the quality of your life, then let it roll off your back. 2) You mentioned Godsmack. They are crazy badass. Shannon Larkin of Godsmack is my second favorite drummer of all time behind Dave Grohl (Nirvana drummer and now lead singer of Foo Fighters). One song to listen to by Godsmack is "Straight Out of Line." Crazy good song. Keep going down this road of Medal, Nu Metal, and Grunge! I've been following grunge since 1991 (I was 8 years old haha). Great reactions, brother!

You listened to the official version, in the non edited one when he sings ‘and when I dream’ it goes into a crazy intense screaming rant, then goes back to the song. Disturbed released i think in 2000. The Sound of Silence is rather shockingly different than the band’s normal music, they did a cover & made it fit the words. The lyrics are dark but Simon and Garfunkel sang it kind of sweet & cheerful. Many like disturbed’s better cuz it seems to catch the meaning more. David can do some crazy things with his voice. His grandfather & father both sang in synagogue.

David Draiman is the lead singer and when he was in school was classically trained for religious singing, which is a lot like opera training.

You are taking the journey that I did in metal in 30 years but in a few videos. Your path is being very logical to approach the genre, little by little, without haste and with a certain chronological order to understand a little evolution of metal while enjoying everything.

Recommendations for more Disturbed: Prayer Remember 10,000 Fists Stupify Indestructible Inside the Fire Just Stop The Night The Light If you want covers (Disturbed do the best covers): Land of Confusion ISHFWILF and then lastly: The Sound of Silence. It's a Simon and Garfunkel cover and is best heard after all the above because it exposes how versatile David's vocals are.

Got this from an article about why people get the chills, goosebumps etc from music, A Sensory Superpower As it turns out, getting chills from music is not as common as you might think. Researchers from USC released a study that suggests that only about 50 percent of people feel things like shivers, a lump in their throat, and goosebumps when they listen to music. What's more, those people might have very different brains than those who don't experience those feelings. First, they gathered 20 people and had them listen to a selection of their favorite songs. Whenever they felt a chill, they pressed a button. All 20 were then given MRI scans - and the 10 that reported reactions were obvious standouts. Their brains turned out to have a much higher volume of fibers connecting their auditory cortex to the areas that process emotion. More fibers mean that those two areas of the brain can communicate much more effectively. It also means that, because their emotional processing centers are beefier, those people are more able to experience extreme emotions.

Heya! First off, I was writing to you to do you and, as long as you're not hurting or being unkind to someone, F 'em! And then you basically said the same thing. To each, his own and that's it. Secondly, I loved seeing you get teary-eyed. Disturbed is AMAZING! I would definitely recommend you react to the live version of Reason to Fight. They are so huge on supporting those with mental health and addiction issues. The video to that song is so beautiful with fans actually testifying and even coming onstage. AND also please do Indestructible - there's a video with lyrics (and I only recommend this version because the lyrics are sick and the cadence is crazy that you won't catch them all). Stricken is also a great track with amazing lyrics and a killer guitar solo!
