Hip 5 Minute Mobility

Hip mobility work 👈 definitely something that I have championed as a means to prevent pain at the hip joint itself but also elsewhere along the kinetic chain (low back, knees). Hip mobility doesn’t need to be complicated either! A simple hip rock back or figure 4 stretch might be all that you need. The biggest thing to understand about this ball-and-socket joint is to make sure you find a routine that works for you! Don’t overstretch the hips! Doing force yourself into positions that don’t feel appropriate for you. Do what feels right and if you need help, get checked out by a physical therapist! ⠀

This is a routine that I have put together that explores your hip range of motion and focuses on hip movement and strength. Give it a shot but do not force any movements into uncomfortable ranges. Always modify the exercises as you see appropriate and do what feels right! LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!!⠀

    I love that you show us how to stretch, But I can't bend my knees like that at all. Do you have any hip stretches that are for a person with very limited range of thier knees?

    Love this!… I find the Cossack squat challenging! I keep losing my balance. Hopefully that improves if I keep doing it
