No, it is not good for city traffic, it heats up a lot and it demands frequent gear shifts in traffic conditions. But things are different when you run it on highways or off road patches. I own BS6 himalayan and its my genuine opinion after riding it for 3 months in Chandigarh. Only buy himalayan if you are a adventure lover.

Yeah

I have the BS4 Sleet model... Himalayan has been great on the adventure tours as well as short city commuting. One feedback to Royal Enfield team is to provide reinforced support at tail to hold the Top box. The top box falls off as the tail grill Rods break ..

By today booked my himalayan granite black.. Excited to have this...himalayan is love

Bhai kami sab bike mey hota hai...m happy to have RE Himalayan 2021 bs6. It's a pure Indian breed.

I feel tube tyres...with spokes in himalayan is because of the off roading nature of the bike..spoke wheels are easier to repair in case of dents due to heavy off roading..also the spoke rims bears the undulations on road and off tracks more efficiently as compared to alloys....at the end of the day its matter of weighing ur choices ..u loose something to get something else.

Yes, true during serious off-roading alloys will break. Though in few expensive adventurers there are tubeless spoke wheel but that setup will get extremely costly for this affordable adventure bike.

My friend is planning to book this New Himalayan 2021 in pine green color.

I usually keep sifting through ownership reviews of this bike, as they appear in various comments on KZread. Two critical issues that I came across are as follows: 1. During summers, the bikes engine casing and petrol tank get heated up to unbearable levels -- something that can cause a fatality. 2. The brake lever is so positioned that it gets overheated in high temperatures, it can cause body burn if the rider is not wearing proper footwear. It can hinder proper braking in the nick of time.

Main issue with bike is tube, break, and dim light it should improve

Mtc, digital tft, led lights, tubeless tires... for old n retro versions there r classic, meteor , interceptor etc etc but atleast adv bikes should pack with technology and safety.

I'm using Royal Himalayan BS6 2021 last 6 months. My personal experience says it's good for long rides comfortable bike but in Traffic it heats a lot. And take care of swing arm do proper greasing otherwise it's annoying sound irritates a lot, otherwise Himalayan is the best bike go for it 👍🙌

Some of the himalayan having stopping issues and some skippes the beat right in the middle of the street causing it more dangerous...it has happened with My friend while riding in city ...luckily he was at God speed

Spoke rims rarely have dents...they are made for last long

Baapu royal Enfield Himalayan bs6 mey 2 problems hai. 1. Engine Heating problem city traffic conditions mey..... 2. Riding posture seat and foot rest position relax nahi hai.....

The only think i dnt like is tube tyre... would be the best if it comes with tubeless tyre.

Having less electronic features are much better than fully loaded electronics. It’s much preferred by the adventure tourer and they prefer bikes with less weight & electronics just like the Yamaha Tenere

I want Quality... which gives realibility.

Instead of 5 there should be 6 gears and tubeless tyres are must important and according to me led headlights are not good for any vehicles

💯% right 6th gear & in rains led performance is less than halogen lights

Fifth point to seriously be improved by RE is its poor quality HANDLE CONE SET BEARING.

led headlamps with indicator and slipper clutch much needed in this bike and brakes must to be improved.

All is fine in himalayan we can cope up with just one big issue i have that is tube tyre ... i have suffered this prblm at one place we got tyre flat in mountains n need to tow this bike till 10 km that was disaster time for me ..

I am 5'8'' and my feet just touch the ground when I stretch legs.

The lower front frame should be 45’ like any off road bike in the world. This bike is the only bike which is 90’ degree Angle to the ground.

How solve heating problem?

LED not necessary,tube tyre is better than tubeless for off-road ....it is a purpose build motorcycle so we don't need so much electronics. See the specs of Dukati scrambler which is very simple 🙏

Mobile chargers is required atleast usb pin

Plz royal Enfield give tubeless tire🙏

Bhai bike main ek bohot bada issue hai 'cone set' bohot kharab quality hai. Jaldi kharab ho jaate hain. Handle almost Jam ho jata haI. Manoeuvre he nahi kar pate fir. Kafi customers ne yeh issue bataya hai.

It's already 15 litres tank which can give you a range of 500 kms. What more do you want ?

hi bro himalayan long drive ke liye best bike hai ya nahi and maintance kya hoga agar normal city and highway drive...

Iski reliability par bahot bada sawal hai. Aur kahi offroading karne jana hai jaise ladakh, Nepal toh bhi kai hazaar kilometer chala ke jana padega. Aur highway par yeh triple-digit speed par bahot vibrate karti hai.

Should have been a 450cc, 6 speed long stroke powertrain.

Kuch points aap ne nahi bole jaise --- LED headlight , Alloy wheel , Full digital console , Stronger chassis , Wider or Different shaped rear view mirror .

The seat is not suited for pavilion rider, it should be made suited for atleast lady co-rider, should improve at the earliest.

Breaks are purpose build to stop late. Off-road conditions might not be suitable for immediate halting at aby given speed. Which might result in skidding the front tyre.

we need tubeless Tyre , all led system , all in one new display, and weight lose expect form RE

Lack in solid chassis and fuel injection system.. Love the looks but I wouldn't spend that much money that lacks most of the offroading features and capabilities..

As rider Himalayan is a pretty good highway machine that can stick to 100kmph all day long without breaking a sweat but not great for pillion !! Specially for long Touring....

Bike to bahot hi achha ha....lakin abhi bhi after sales service bakwas ha....parts availability kum ha....parts jese clutch plate assembly wagera wagera nahi milta...2 saal me piche ka suspension bath jata ha, change karne jao to parts nahi milta

Ride will be comfortable once you start rolling but at slow speeds you will need to get accustomed of the weight and upon stoping always have to tilt a bit to stand..

RE HIMALAYAN looks good with its Analogue Instrumental cluster...so your review is not that kind of positive in terms of cons... Halogen lamp is also good... Remaining unique in the market is also a kind of business which RE have nailed it with their RETRO ELEMENTS... If you want other features also then one can go for HiGH VALUED ADVENTURE TOURISM bikes viz KTM , TRIUMPH, BMW So, I think this HIMALAYAN is perfect to own.

Mere khayal se Himalayan ko or ek alag segment me banana chahiye. Jis me tubeless tyre rahega.

Front mudguard half scoop looks so annoying it's not even parallel to the front wheel and functionality is zero.

Led light baat jo kar rahe ho compare to adventure 390 uski price to dekho pehle. Wo aati hya 4lakh plus price hai . Aur iska itna Kam price mein 411 cc provide kar raha hai jo koi company ka dum nhi jo is affordable price mein dega. R analogue meter hone k wajah se Aisa lgta hai ki aeroplane ka cockpit par hai. 390 adventure ka service cost bhi jyada. Iska Kam.

Buying a used Himalayan could be a reasonable choice. Otherwise the brand new version is overly priced and not really presenting value for money here in Australia compared to it's competition. Showroom product might attract consumers admirable of the British Monarchy and their reign in India. It'd be interesting to see an "Indian Enfield Himalayan" instead, that could compete with CFMoto, KTM and the likes.

I don't think RE is listening to their customers anymore..... Features is not something we're wanting so much... 650 cc is what we need.... More power is what is needed.... What they hell are they thinking only they know!
