Couldn't agree more with you! I FULLY recommend you meet my best friend Jesus Christ... He came to abolish religion. In Jesus there is life, and life in abundance.

I love Father Bob. He used to have a very entertaining TV show with a Jewish guy. The Vatican said Father Bob has to retire from being a priest, because he's to old. But Father Bob still does some duties including looking after the poor, homeless, people with addictions, etc. Sometimes he is on radio.

At 0:48 that woman actually thinks Hillsong music is 'great.' She needs to listen to some secular music stations while in her car and develop some musical taste.

This reporting, while an interesting topic and rather well put together, presents a very confused message. On the topic of Hillsong, I think there motive was to present it in a bad light, but the material they had and the interviews presented, did not paint that picture, not a strong picture anyways.

This is not new and similar things have been happening since the mid 90's when Hillsong started to become big. However, when formal investigations have taken place, media and politicians who have made allegations have consistently been requested to apologise. That is, Hillsong has done things above board and other organisations who are pointing the finger have actually done the wrong. Father Bob McGuire has a very good heart. But much of what he claims at 2:46 as Americanism is also MANY of the things that are spoken of that a believer should do as spoken of in Psalms. However, he is most definitely correct in saying that it is not a cult. God bless him and I hope to see him in heaven with all of the other saints one day. Hillsong is definitely inclusive and far from exclusive. You do not have to give to be a part of the church as some have suggested. According to Father Bob, hopefully Hillsong "does a little good", and maybe this could be a research point for A Current Affair. So why do I give? There are more slaves in the world today, than at any other point in human history. Today there are an estimated 27 million people in sex slavery or labour slavery. This is to the point that human trafficking is the 2nd largest global organised crime today generating an estimated $32 billion per year. The average age of these slaves is 12 years old while the number of times they are required to have sex is somewhere between 20 and 48 times a day. Only 1 - 2 % of these victims are ever rescued. My government, does not give a dime to genuinely fight this, my unions do not either. But my church most definitely does, I want to give and as my money has already been taxed it should not be taxed again as this is not a transaction; it's a gift. My gift should be set free to help others be set free. If that means the money goes towards growing the church to help others join in this giving, so be it. If that means sending the money straight to needed area, so be it. If that means paying a speaker (pastor, preacher) who is great at encouraging others to join in this giving, so be it. But whatever the case my giving should not be taxed again. The exclusive Brethern and Scientology I know little of and would have to do research of them and from them before making comments.

If you haven’t critically assessed what you believe to be true, how in a million years will you know if it really is true?

I think to myself that I am sat in Gods zone :) when you go to stuff like Hillsong???? its all man made lights, plastic, metal!! dome of noise!!!!! people getting hyped up!!! and then you hear some of these people say other churches are boring!! I rather listen to a guy in a room talk about the bible than be blasted with a circus show

The problem with hillsong isn't the music per se (although it isn't great to be fair) it is that they hold a literal interpretation of the bible which they have somehow managed to blend with a weird kind of prosperity gospel, which is one of the most anti-christian gospels i have ever come across, and i'm an atheist. Jesus did not say give me money and i'll forgive you, he didn't say blessed are those with wealth and power, he said the opposite. So hillsong is not true to Christianity because of this prosperity gospel, but attempts to be by holding a literal view of the bible (which is factually wrong) which leads to them bringing in anti-abortion ideas (anti-women), homosexuality being a sin (even though it is a part of nature and ubiquitous between species) and that only through belief in their God can bring salvation (anti-athiest/other religions/reason). These tenants combined with the prosperity gospel makes Hillsong toxic, and they are a dangerous example of how American Christianity has radicalized. I'm glad that most in Europe are smart enough to reject this nonsense.

I agree with everything he said but didnt the catholic church or the pope change the 10 commandments..which God says that we are to not add onto or take away from the Bible....they pray to Mary which we are to pray to Jesus...the Pope calls himself Father and God says we are to call NO ONE father on earth only the Father in Heaven...that he says He is God on earth which is so not right..there is no one on this earth that is worthy to change commandments or say they are God on earth when they are are not

Weird, I thought the Catholic church was a CULT..... It doesn't get to the core... Jesus is the ANSWER MY FRIEND. When we accept Jesus Christ into our lives, we recieve his Holy Spirit. One thing I love about Hillsong is every so passionately worships God in SPIRIT and TRUTH. I wish all churches would be spirit lead, but there are many that are not (I won't name some, Catholics)... JESUS>RELIGION

The e idea that a Catholic priest has any coherent opinion on Christianity is insane. Ask the "Father" about his worship of statues, Mary and St Whoever. Or about the biblical basis of transubstantiation (lol!) Or so-called "apostolic succession". Or the lakes of blood shed by his cult. Or child abuse.

Father Bob, what would he know, He has his beliefs backwards, Catholicism. Completely backwards and is not Christianity. Catholism IS A CULT. So what you need to confess your sins to a catholic priest so he can then forgive you blah blah blah. Forgiveness is through Jesus Christ, and NOT through Mary. And Religion is not Christianity, its a Relationship....
